What makes Donald Trump seem like he would be right for the presidency?

how about a weekend? how about < 80 hour /week job?

all socialist constructs. all thinks that historically, people have (litterly) fought for to get.

Ah, but the feedback would be that slavery is socially unacceptable - not that it's economically not feasable.

Which turns back to my point: The problem is never if we want socialism or not - it's always HOW MUCH socialism we want.

Extreme capitalims is a bad thing

Extreme socialism is a bad thing

Somewhere in between, you need to find a capitalist movement that plays by socially acceptable rules.

And that's what current day moderate socialism is about: for instance, it considers that a fair wage is not the lowest number a company can get away with, but that a person should be above the povertly line when working a full time job.

Not so much. Between a part time job and full time school I maybe have a 5 hour window of free time throughout any random day of the week maybe. It's not all paid-work, but time consuming important work is still work in my opinion.

Slavery would be neither acceptable or economically balanced in this day and age in our country. We've reached a point where if we dont pay people, nothing is stopping them from not working. People not working = Business not producing = demand not being met = shortage. Businesses need to pay people to make their product to meet demand. No business in the right mind would try to find "free" labor, it's financial (and moral) suicide.

This is probably thing I can agree on the most. Extreme anything is really bad. It just depends on what system a country runs on and how other ideas can find a way to fit into that system. Countries that adopt a full on capitalist or full on socialist or full on whatever ideology typically don't have a very smooth ride. The problem with our system is that we allowed it to get terribly outdated and now it seems like we've dug ourselves a hole.

Minimum wage is a whole different topic that has it's own thread on this forum. But minimum wage is minimal skill jobs, usually. It should be enough to cover bare-ass essentials but people shouldn't be staying in these jobs for more than a few years.

So I'm seeing this simple battery thing. How can this be a real thing? Since when it's illegal to push away aggressive inyourface reporters? My god media is a joke.

Going to need some background on this. What are you talking about?

Oh, this again. Yeah, the media is a pest like this. Even outside of politics, the media is just a pain in the ass to deal with now.

Tbh it's kinda used by the media to bring extra buzz that Trump is violent...etc (which well who the heck doesnt know?) but it has actually done the opposite. In most cases when Trump "incites violence" it's towards people who well...are kinda asking for it. In this case it shows the media clearly over stepping boundaries, his manager taking the fall and Trump unwilling to "discard people" and stepping in to watch over his friend/subordinate. The media pushing so hard for the "violent" take on the situation if anything makes it even worse for them lolol

  • 2 weeks later...

I come back onto the forums and this isn't on the top.

Unacceptable! We have so much to talk about! Like Colorado basically being denied a primary because El Rato got his pals at the RNC to close it off to all except for 3,200 people, who gladly voted for the one last hope of the Establishment. That's like if the Sander man basically got told "lol fuk off" in Wisconsin, and letting Hiliary win a landslide with only 3,200 people.

Cruz said he was a honest man too, looking out for the future of America way back when...

Donald Trump is still right. LYIN' TED IS BACK AND BETTER THAN EVER!

Regardless of all the crazy surrounding trump. He's the best one out of the three leaders in the race IMO.

Hillary Clinton:

Pros:

Has experience

Possibly good with foreign affairs

Cons:

A habitual liar

No concern for national security

- - - - - - -

Bernie Sanders:

Pros:

Non that I can honestly think of.

Cons:

He's an all around socialist - Everything Old America hates wrapped up in a nice package. He dreams of a Utopia like society. Yes, a utopia would be nice, but as the world currently stands his plan are it's unsustainable and will lead America to it's death.

Donald Trump:

Pros:

A great business leader. I can't really stress this point enough. Even a funny meme was produced about this. "A small loan of a million dollars." To most people. This is hilarious, but if you take into account his actual worth. It's astonishing. If you factor the number down to something more reasonable to normal people, say, $1,000 and were told in 40 years to give back $10,000,000 would you tell that person they were insane? That's what Donald Trump did. he's no joke of an investor.

Cons:

He's partially insane. Just as most brilliant people are, Trump is no exception. He is, on most of the issues, is right, but his proposed solutions are just plain bad or wrong.

So. In the end. It's basically a race between an liar, a socialist, and a crazy person. Take your pick.

Do note however, as already adressed in the thread, that it isn't insane. Trumps increase in wealth is the same as what the stock market (S&P) did. Meaning that if you invested $1000 in the S&P 40 years ago, litteraly did NOTHING, you would also have that same $10,000,000 * now.

To call this "astonishing" or "insane", is simply a lack of understanding of long term economics

(* according to the hypothetical numbers of the bolded )

But the thing is that is the ability to see the potential of the company...etc and investing into it. It seems simple now because you know it will go up, do you know how many people regret not investing into bitcoins? Or how many of our parents and uncles regret not investing into coke or nike...etc?

Not sure I agree you implying that it's easy to make an investment for the long term. If it really was that simple as you paint it nearly everyone in his generation which had some wealth would be a billionaire. If I gave you 1000$ now are you saying you can churn that into a few million dollars in 4 decades? Some people work their entire lives trying to invest their money into things and never make anything of it other than dumb luck. He managed to sustain his wealth and manage a multibillion dollar empire which not many people can do. It isnt so brain dead nor simple as you make it out to be...

Heck most people can barely manage their small firm let alone an empire like his :P

I dont really like Trump but seriously...it's one thing to not like his ideology/attitude and another to legitimately take shit on everything purely because it's Trump and basically insult everyone in his generation who isnt a billionaire/millionaire by making it as if anyone can simply invest in some random company and be rich.

So basically what's being said is, he's a better than average businessman who started off with WAY more capital than the average person could even hope for. Someone could multiply their money by the same factor as Trump did, and still have nowhere near the amount he has, simply because of having less to work with in the first place.

Something like that?

There's a difference between implying it IS easy (as we don't know the future) vs I'm implying it WAS easy (as we know the past).

Yes, it's true you can't predict the economical climat for the next 40 years. However Trump capital isn't created during the economical climat for the NEXT 40 years - it was created during the economical climat of the PAST 40 years - which we know has been very beneficial for corporations.

And that's the point no? Nobody is arguing how hard it will be for Trump to become a gazillionaire in the next 40 years, but how hard it was for him to become a billionaire in the previous 40 years.

You're correct in pointing out we don't know how difficult it will be for the next 40 years, but we can see how difficult it was for the previous 40 years.

As for this being an insult to other people of his generation ... that's a bit of a strech. It's a historical fact, that if you invested in a standard & poors index funds, you'd seen the same multiplier Trump has had.

That's not so much an insult - as it is hindsight 20/20.

@Twins_Mercury: to call him a better than average businessman, depends on how you define an average business man. Is the average business someone who's barely able to keep his company from going under? is it someone who follows the market (market does good, company does good)? or some other definition? perhaps the ability to run away with all the company's money, and then put up a nice middle finger to everyone who invested money in it?

ATTENSION NY VOTERS!

It's your primary voting day today! Help make America great again.

Also , if your not a registered voter, GO REGISTER! It's easy to do, and you get to vote for a rat, a old man, a liar, and a rich dude with the best memes around.

And also Kaisch. Because the establishment wants him in to avoid a 1237 Trump nomination but has the revelancy and the likability to the young voter like a dead fish. Fuck Kaisch.

You can just pinpoint the moment where any credibility was lost. (Also everyone is old. Hell Trump is actually older than Hillary.)

Trump won NY!

By a staggering 70+% over both Kaisch and Cruz!

And so did Hillary, beating Sanders by almost 20 points.

Hey there boys, just a FYI: Trump just sweeped Super Tuesday III

He took the whole five states!

Also Clinton somehow is keeping Sanders alive as well, as she still needs a clean win to wrap it up.

Before Utsoob gets on the size 8 font megaphone again, Ted Cruz dropped out of the race. Man these republicans just keep being quitters one after the other. On the other side it looks like Bernie won't be giving up and will keep fighting until the very end. Even if he loses at least he actually put up a hell of a fight.
