Need a serious PC upgrade.

So, turns out Amazon wasn't so cheap on the shipping as I thought (ended up at $350 extra for the cheapest and lightest part of the build)

Will have to get parts from Norway, can get all the same except the power supply, so need a new suggestion to replace the EVGA Supernova

Btw, here is the build on the Norwegian site, should all be correct (excluding the power supply) http://i.imgur.com/fKoURH5.png

Don't waste your money on an SSHD, just get a regular HDD + SSD.

As for the PSU, most 550w 80+bronze (or better) PSUs will be fine -- Check Corsair (avoid the CX/CS series -- the CX750 is okay), Coolermaster (some CM PSUs are kind of bad), Silverstone, seasonic, XFX, EVGA, BeQuiet, Superflower, FSP.

Power Supply is a Corsair VS650 and I swapped the SSHD for what it should have been in the first place =P

These at 600W http://i.imgur.com/9rUWKPq.png $73 - $97 in order of appearance

These at 650W http://i.imgur.com/K6w23xW.png $85 - $150 - $96 - $160 in order of appearance

Don't think I should go below 600W, but maybe I am wrong.

You'd be fine at 550w~, but none of those PSUs are all that great. The RM650i is a solid unit, but it's not worth that much (plus at it's price point you could potentially order something cheaper off Amazon and have it shipped). Is there anything else? What's the site you're buying from?

From this site, it's in Norwegian though, but a site translate would probably do the trick. https://www.komplett.no

The choices are about the same for 550W https://www.komplett.no/search?q=PSU%20550W

Btw, the RM650i if I were to get it off Amazon, far cheaper to just buy it in Norway.

If planning to get i5-4690K and 980Ti, what's a suitable motherboard and RAM to get? My budget is about USD$400 to ~USD$700 (about S$600 to S$900) for the entire computer, but I'm not planning to change my monitor (1920x1080 @60Hz) and I already have a Western Digital Caviar Blue HDD. Buying SSD is a good idea but I really don't want to reinstall Windows.

It would be mostly for gaming and less-intensive document editing, but there may be some video recordings and editing here and there.

Using N900 Wireless Dual Band PCI Express Network Adapter if it matters.

The price list in S$ for my country is here http://best-bargain-computers.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/BBC-Price-List-11092015.pdf, probably need to zoom to 250%

Pretty much any Z97 board from Asrock, MSI, Gigabyte, or Asus is fine (just make sure it has the form factor/SLI/XFIRE compatibility that you want).  As for RAM, literally anything is fine.

If you're gaming at 1080p 60fps, then I'd just go for an R9 390.

You'll have to reinstall windows anyway for a new computer.

How much editing will you be doing? If it's a decent amount then I'd go with the Xeon E3 1231v1 instead of a 4690k.

Thanks for answering. I don't really get the difference between the motherboards with their suffixes.

Do you mean the chipset (Z97/H97/Z87/H87/B85/Q85/H81)? Or do you mean their model names?

The chipset refers to some of features that the board has. Z97 is designed for overclocking and is the cheapest chipset that supports SLI (not all Z97 boards support SLI) and as such is usually built to a higher degree and has better VRM's/heatsinks. Whereas H81 is a cut down slimmed down version designed for budget use.

Wasn't Cooler Master the one I should avoid? The price currently is fine, if that is the only reason I should switch =P

What I said was Cooler Master's units are hit or miss. The GM series is one of their good PSU series.

The RM550 isn't much better than a GM550 (I'd go with the EVGA G2 550/850 if you really wanted something better -- the 850 will allow you to throw in a second R9 390 should you want one in the future).
