The new crafts in my pack have these values attached to them. I assumed they were assigned values and not known or realistic ones. What are they based on?

Basically an automated formula which is clearly wrong. either too high or too low. Talk have been on for ages asking brad to remove the pricing of these and instead replace with a generic message saying it's worth more/less.

Noobs think their level 1 vintage weapon is worth 9 keys =_=

There's a whole thread about how wrong they are. http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/2496-odd-leveled-vintage-low-craft-items-math-pricing/ Long story short, an automatic "bonus" is applied. http://backpack.tf/faq#q5

Ok, that discussion was way too much.  I assumed the price bonus was a "placeholder" to represent some additional value that could not be determined.  It is better to create a symbol, like the one used to show out of date prices, to indicate the item will have unknown value.  Also, the value should be removed from the backpack view, like an un-priced item, so that the person does not get confused.  A thread could be placed/pinned here to help people get an idea of what their item could be worth.
