♠Derpeh♤
From the title it's quite obvious what I'm on about, every day there are pointless/groundless suggestions made by foolish traders on bp.tf to increase their bp value. I think maybe should implement a automatic closing of suggestions which contain no links (obvious absence of proof) as well as suggestions which contain nothing (a failed attempt at upping price). There have been countless attempts from people trying to remove the lower end of a item or have tried to explain why they 'thought' it should be worth a XXXX amount of metal/keys. Mods do generally close these pointless suggestions, but sometimes they can stay there for a while, also serving the purpose of clogging up the homepage when there is an excess offenders of this foolishness. May of may not be the best way to address this problem but something needs to get the wheels turning right xD EDIT: seems like maybe having 1-2 admins that does this is a good idea too :DDDD

Ahh my apologies im sorta new to the forum part of bp.tf didnt know it was suggested so many times before DDDD: Maybe give a few selected pricing regulars the power to close these suggestions? (But worry from abuse of power sigh) Well i think alot of people can agree on this that something needs to be done :<

Woifi The Viking
What are you even complaining about?^^ The site may not be moderated 24/7 yet, but it's good enough imo.~
♠Derpeh♤
What are you even complaining about?^^ The site may not be moderated 24/7 yet, but it's good enough imo.~ I agree that maybe it isnt one of the more bigger issues atm, and ofc i dont expect 24/7 moderation either but just going through the first 2 pages price votes (atm) you get these following obviously price manipulation suggestions: http://backpack.tf/vote/id/51b8992dba2536be51000004 http://backpack.tf/vote/id/51b887afba2536e82c000032 http://backpack.tf/vote/id/51b882d5ba25360631000030 http://backpack.tf/vote/id/51b87aa1ba2536b81500001c http://backpack.tf/vote/id/51b86f394bd7b85c16000011 http://backpack.tf/vote/id/51b87438ba25365710000010 http://backpack.tf/vote/id/51b8742dba25366b10000012 These without a doubt will be closed soon, but my main point being is that since bp.tf is used regularly and there are alot of troll suggestions, it badly cloggs up the site which is why i think some sort of solution needs to be implemented. Eg: as suggested many times above a single admin which just does this
♠Derpeh♤
I thought all of the mods do this already. this has been suggested several times My apologies Motion i have only recently started using the forums and was unaware of that, with that being said why has nothing been done? especially seeing as bp.tf is becoming more popular than before (more troll suggestions than ever) and ramses, yes all mods do this but the sheer number of them leaves the site clogged/clustered for quite some time (look at my post above) that was just 2 pages of voting and you get 6+ suggestions all trying to increase bp value. I would rather suggest a simply report suggestion feature than a mod who does the most braindead form of moderation.

I'm not entirely sure what brad has been working on, but he definitely has other priorities above something that can/is taken care of by moderators sooner or later. I definitely agree with you that it is a nuisance and it fosters harassment towards new users (from users who are tired of proofless suggestions). I just don't know if automation would completely solve it. The new rules/guidelines seem to be ignored and clicked through. Simple, no moderaters are really online at the moment or are busy. Woifi i thought about that and did know that automation would cause unnecessary code work, but many seem to like the idea of a admin dedicated to just remove these suggestions(yes quite brain dead tho DDDD:), i believe a report feature stated by motion would probably be abused (imagine the abuse on promo suggestions xD) Motion, too true, too true
jjjon123
Usually a mod catches them as soon as they are posted but if no one is online at the time they get hidden in page 2 and page 3 and get left up until they are dealt with in one of the mods normal moderating pattern

Shit Sandwich
Maybe a short 'forced' tutorial about how the suggestions work. When I first started using the site I didn't fully understand (and yes I know I was too lazy to read up on it and just made assumptions), the actual process and accepted format and reasoning behind the suggestions. I thought that a 'suggestion' was precisely that, - make a suggestion, people vote and it is either passed by vote or not. But now I realise it isn't that simple and the current method does make sense and is the best way, but even the name 'suggestion' is kind of misleading and easy to misinterpret. A short one page breakdown with a few examples of good/ bad practice, detailing the process which all users have to read/visit before making a suggestion could maybe cut-down on a lot of work for you moderators/admins. Just a thought

Maybe this isn't the kind of breakdown you are talking about, but they recently implemented this page, which first-time suggesters must "agree to" before they write up their suggestion. It hasn't made too much of an improvement, as I imagine many people skip over it.

It hasn't made too much of an improvement, as I imagine many people skip over it. LOL, I hadn't seen that! After my major fail at my first suggestion attempt I haven't really added any suggestions, but yes that was kind of the thing i was thinking of. To my eye it needs to read something like 'pricing adjustment proposal rules' or something a tad more official, as 'suggestions guidelines' really doesn't convey the seriousness of the system. The system in place is a major player in how people view current trends in the market but the terminology seems too .......... casual(?) The amount of players in TF2 who don't understand the process and end up badmouthing the site preaching how they think the system works is pretty large. I really don't want to com across as being preachy myself, or that I think i know it all. Just giving a bit of feedback from my point of view. People are generally lazy or can't be bothered to read pages of info, maybe a pricing tutorial something a bit like outpost, with regards to the more visual side of the help pages. A video or just some bold graphics might get the message across a bit better. (Not trying to knock the site guys, you do a damn good job as it is, thank you)
