>One of Sniper's phrases says "Bastard"

>Meet the Medic taunt description has "Bastards" in it

>Bannable offense if you say "ass"

>Most jokes in-game cannot be understood if you are under the age of 13

>Use of swear words does not harm anyone unless directed towards a user

>PPM has Trade servers G-rated but God forbid their unusual trade server is

I'm trying to ask, or point out, why have a PG-rated server when the game iself is rated M and has M-rated content in it

I'm not saying everyone should curse

I'm not saying anyone should curse

I guess it's just a bit too complicated for some to understand

Oh no no no no no, I understand.  If you want an academic explanation, here ya go:

We all KNOW there are a lot of young players on TF2.  It's just a fact.  We'll not discuss the reason why, it could be that the parents do not care, or they bought the game not knowing what all it entailed (honestly, the cartoon artwork style of TF2 would lead you to believe it's a more child friendly game), or maybe the kid downloaded it without their parents knowing.  It doesn't really matter though, because here they are.  Now, in comparison to other M-rated games, TF2 is very tame.  The gore is cartoonish enough to not be considered mature content, and there is no sexual content.  The only really M-rated aspect of the game is the occasional cursing.  In fact, the cursing isn't even very often.  Statistically speaking, less than 5% of the total voice lines for all classes involve cursing.  If not for that 5%, the game would probably have a different rating.  Some servers elect to provide an environment that is safer for the younger players of TF2, where they are not constantly exposed to content that is not involved in the game.  It's not as though they're trying to censor the content of the game itself, but rather limit the amount of profanity coming from players.  Younger players are also constantly insulted and cast out simply because of their age.  G-rated servers also try to make a more inviting environment for the younger players, where they will not be made fun of because of their age.

This doesn't mean G-rated servers are only for kids!  It's for anyone who plays TF2 and doesn't feel the need to curse really.  Many of the G-rated servers I've been to are a enjoyable place to trade and game even as an adult.  It boils down to this: if you curse when you play TF2, it's not like we're judging you (or I'm not judging you at least), we just prefer that you don't do so on a G-rated server.

If they're smart enough to download a game, then they'd be smart enough to see it's an M-rated game and anyone can play

And they should expect some swear words, but servers shouldn't just accommodate young players

But I agree with everything else
