My FirePowered Gambling Experiment pt.1: Beginnings

So like I do not know why it posted the Mann co one twice, so I'm going to edit and talk about something else. Here's the original post lol - https://forums.backpack.tf/topic/84382-manncos-biggest-giveaway-2024/#comment-687169

Anyways, ever heard of the saying "90% of Gamblers quit before they hit it big."

I wanted to test this theory, so I decided an experiment.

So I gambled this weekend in FirePowered like 60 keys in value, in which it was 31 keys and a Black Max Head (29 keys value)

I lossed both of those and gained about 1.5 keys in gambling in FirePowered.

My net yield is -58.5 keys

I do want to thank the people who helped albeit it was not disclosed to them so I can make it unbiased in this such as DedAndrei(1 key gamble), w126(29 keys v Haunted Ghost Bonk helm), NizzTW(3 keys), and gnarrlly(Black Max Head Gamble).

Truthfully I'm not too mad as it is the name of the game when you gamble and I gambled what I was willing to lose. You do lose more than you win.

At the end of the day, it's our choices and it's up to us whether we choose to do it or not in gambling.

Also, ending on good note I made some trades as well which helped mitigate this as well. I sold about 434 keys in miscs on stn.tf.

Just like I mentioned on the trial and fire post earlier, just keep moving forward.

Please always focus on the 90% of Gamblers quit before they hit it big.

Almost everyone in the 10% don’t stop once they hit it big and lose it all anyway.

There is only 1 way to win in gambling. Don’t

gambling is super appealing and preys on weak willed people

the idea that just putting up SOME money means you can win EVEN MORE money on a game of chance is an addicting thought to anyone, it affects all walks of life. (The gambler is a movie about this, didnt say good movie but it’s a movie)

unless it’s a seriously good bet (like spend $2 and get a 20% chance to win 2,000 or something), betting is only a way for a fool to be parted from his money, that’s what the casinos do with the slots, and that’s what tf2easy and other gambling sites do with their online games, ive read multiple people in easy chat crying about how they lost it all and went into debt and took out a loan and yadda yadda yadda, it’s embarrassing.

don’t gamble more than you can afford, why gamble 20 keys to make 30 keys total (10 keys profit?) You gain 10 if you win, but lose the whole 20 if you lose. House always wins, even if you beat them your winnings came scraped off of other losers.

I tried tf2easy once, fastest way i lost 5 keys. The only form of gambling that truly doesn't make you feel 100% fucked is MvM.

I’ve tried it twice, won like 2 keys the first time, and then like 3-4 keys the second time but it’s way more common to just get rolled by the bot so I avoid it, was hoping their upgrader would match 100% of value so you could essentially trade out for things you want but the max percentage chance is like 80%

so basically you could try to upgrade $200 for $200 and still have a 20% chance to lose even though it’s the same value. I get why but still sucks.
