Quicksell advice for Newbie Trader

Hello,

These days how do traders actually get good quicksells?

Asking this because I'm a newbie trader, and the ones I found I've so far are ones I had to re-quicksell for lower than what I've got. Probably will also be the case for the one I currently have, so I've just been losing keys (Will probably be down to ~16 keys after quickselling my current one).

I've watched TheVirtualEconomist's videos and some others guides so identifying what a quicksell is isn't an issue, but where.

So far my experience is:

-Scrap.tf can snag good deals but there's obviously luck whether you win over someone else

-Mixed results on Skial and FirePowered. The latter still has its "no advertising that you're quickbuying" rule. Vatican is 100% dead and TGP at best has a few people. In general I haven't been selling, but maybe I just need to be more firm on getting deals I can actually re-quicksell for profit.

-I've supposedly heard Stntrading can sometimes have hats close to buy order but I haven't seen them.

Finally, I've started trying to just send quicksell price offers to bp.tf classifieds. Is this fine or is it rude unless the seller specifically says they're quickselling?

Do you have comments on the above methods, which ones work best for you, or other ones I'm missing?

Sorry for all the questions, any answers would be appreciated.

I would advise you to trade anything else but unusuals with that low capital. You buy one shitty hat to requicksell it for 20 ref profit. You might as well buy 100 painted hats and bp.tf price, and make 5-10 keys profit on them, slowly building up your stuff. You need to have a good capital to be a good at unusuals.

Bots and general competition make low-end unusual trading no longer feasible in any capacity without having your own set of bots that fight 24/7 to earn you 1 key of profit per hat. The other issue is that every time Valve releases a new case, you get a surge of new garbage hats under 30-40 keys flooding the market to where anyone looking to buy a nice hat for keeps has 1000 options and may easily pass over your offerings. Your only true methods that don't require an absurd amount of time and attention would be to invest more money into more keys to start at the mid-range, or try trading other things instead, such as strange pro KS items with quality parts that you might get a key or two profit off of, or spelled items that aren't total junk hats/cosmetics.

Geez feels like just yesterday the advice was "Start at 20 keys and do unusual trading" and now even that's not enough, how many more years until you need 300 keys minimum to start I wonder?

You just have to get really lucky and find some good deals! It might be hard in today’s economy… but it’s still possible to buy items at a MASSIVE (and might I say *suspicious*) discount!

Here’s proof of items that got sold really cheap: If these guys can do it… you can too!

Yeah *I* heard it was ~20 keys. Would you now say I need to probably get up to 30 keys or more...?

Oh wayy more than thirty, at least if you want to escape the brain numbingness that is buy order trading. I started with twenty but eventually bought more keys and am sitting roughly at 100. Def buy 50 keys and more to even start making good profit. Or word on the streets is that a job (yea ik scary) gives way more.

One big thing that helps when starting out is before buying a hat, asking yourself, "Would I use this hat willingly?". If you yourself like the hat/effect combo, there's a good chance others would as well, making it an easier sell. And if your first instinct is "That looks like dogshit", it's probably not worth your time. This method also has the advantage of while you're trying to sell the item, you can also use it and have fun with it. When your capital becomes high enough, that's when it's more worth dealing with the shit items, because you'd be able to sit on them for a while without disrupting your profit flow and even taking a loss on them is at that point, barely a sting.

Also, don't be afraid to make sidegrade trades. Trading isn't just buy item for X, sell for Y, repeat. It is worth trading a 10 key hat for a 10 key hat if you know what you're getting is easier to sell or are getting some sweets for the trade.

Get away from hats, immediately, and never go back.  Unusual trading, particularly at low tiers, is badly over-saturated with traders who will undercut you every time.

Trade FN/MW skins (normal ones, not strange until you get more XP), or for extra easy mode, Pro KS weapons.   Heck, trade painted hats or parted strange weapons.  Trade taunts, if you have to.  Just do not, ever, trade low-tier unusual hats.

alot of the best deals in your pricerange will be on the steamcommunity market or on mannco.store. you can. especially on mannco.store you can create alot of buyordersand have a real big profit margin while aloowing other players to get a little bit more cash for their unwanted items
