Political bullshit aside, is there on earth an option to use backpack.tf without it screaming to me "fight for freedom with us", "support people in ukraine". Just please stop, it looks like the revolution is about to happen, even the most innocent site has these ads. It might be bc i am from russia but i just want to look for virtual non-existent items

Get an ad-blocker. I use Opera browser, which has a built-in ad-blocker, but any good ad-blocker works.

I don't like these types of ads either. Bring politics out of gaming.

90% i believe its not backpack its just your adsense - from the sites you visit and other internet activity it would personalize ads for you. i mean atleast in EU it holds true

There's like almost no choice a website that shows ads has in what ads get shown beyond "no literal porn ads please". They are chosen by the algorithm gods to try and appeal to you based on the data they collect on you. Unless you turn customized ads off then you get random garbage :D

Putin is a puppet of the British and French because they want that cheap farmland and Holodomor oil deposits and couldn't think of any other way to do so after they made Ukraine return their nukes upon USSR dissolution.
Don't pay attention to those with disabilities that are not being taken out of the country. Slava!

"Bring politics out of gaming"

Sir, you are on a TF2 forum. You know, the game about mercs (inherently political) warring (inherently political) over land (a political resource) using ragtag homebrew weapons (commonly used in political contexts) employed by a company with a significantly more money (capital is a political resource) than them?

How did all of this fly over your head?

Or you can just enjoy the game for what it is, a silly 3d movement shooter.

Not everything needs to be political 24/7. Most people play TF2 to escape it, not to be barraged with it. It is a nessecary part of our lives but that doesn't mean it needs to be at the forefront of our lives every waking moment. Politics is overwhelming at times and we sometimes just need a mental break to stay healthy. Forcing politics into everyone's lives only makes them despise it more and become more ignorant of it, rather than making them want to educate and understand the system around them.

I agree with him

And about why I see these ads... I have never ever googled nor watched anything political. The most closest thing I have ever watched is the gpu shortage and stuff related to that. Clearly that's not because ads think I am interested in the war, but advertisers probably invested hella a lot of money to it and that's why. By the way, it's called propaganda, it forces you to pick the political side

So.. Battlefield, call of duty, heck even fortnite, a game for kids, is also a political game according to your understandings? These games either forces you to do the objective (capture a land) or find a better weapon + attachments to have an advantage over the enemy. Even if a game is 'political', it's not related to real life and it's an alternate story

All I want is to have a good summer, why I am even bothering about this
