Download (open source and never touches your Steam account) https://github.com/rosesr/backpack.tf-color-picker Requires TamperMonkey or an equivalent. It's just how they implemented it, the tags can store any hex color you pass it but the UI only provides the 7(?) default colors. I wrote my own script a few months back to add all the tf2 paint colors (non-team) as well as primary colors to the list of buttons which is a bit easier to use than this color input (I assume that's what this is just looking at the code, don't need it so not installing). Both of these scripts are going to be useless when the "next" update comes out though since it's now a native feature in that version (although I will probably add my buttons again if it doesn't remember your colors).
