I got scammed recently and I'm trying to get these items back

Pretty self explanatory, but I was scammed yesterday, lost out on a whole bunch of stuff, totaling to around 200 dollars. This is the list of items I lost: https://backpack.tf/item/831569645
https://backpack.tf/item/7957041440
https://backpack.tf/item/1583793229

If anyone has any knowledge on their whereabouts or want to help me get these items back, I would be forever grateful. I would buy them back with straight cash, but I'm in a tight spot right now irl financially. These items mean a lot to me, especially the blizzardy storm Napper's Respite and the Australium axtinguisher signed by sketchek. I've already received updates on the Max's head and I managed to get back my strange pro ks original, but if anyone can help me with this, I would be forever grateful

No way to recover the items without buying them from future owners I'm afraid.

Can you tell us about how you got scammed? It can only be educational for people that may not be able to recognize how scammers operate. Providing the identity of the person who scammed you would also be appreciated so people can report them.

Unfortunately steam doesn't restore items anymore unless the problem is on them, but it happens very rarely (or ever), for now if you wish to get back the items scammed from you, you will need to wait until the private inventory sells to another person, which then you can buy them back. However, you will need to keep two things in mind, if you see the person you are buying from is banned for some sort of scamming, best to avoid as you will be banned for trading with scammers. Secondly, if the person is not willing to sell u his item that was scammed from u, don't force them to, you can tell them you want it back, but if they don't want to, no need to force them.

Finally, learn from your mistakes, everyone in tf2 trading will experience a scam once in their lifetime, so it is not a rare thing, u can only reflect upon those mistakes and learn to check a person's rep and possible red flags when dealing with people before trading away your items. Good luck.

Also, which scam method did you fall for? If is a new type of scam, best to inform all of us so we can prepare for it.

Can you link us the scammer's profile too?

Ayo that would fall under the 'No witchhunting' category friend

How were you scammed? This could be a new one or a very common one.

Just another impersonator, I'm afraid. I'm pretty new to the trading scene so I just basically walked into them

Update on the situation for anyone still happening to check (tho I doubt it)

All items have been found. All of the weapons are in someone else's backpack right and I am currently negotiating with them in an attempt to get them back. In fact, at the time of me writing this, I'm talking with someone in possession of my signed Axtinguisher from sketchek. As for my two unusual hats, they are currently located in the inventory of this account: https://backpack.tf/u/76561198876179362 who has been assumed to be the scammer's alt. Now, I'm new to trading just in general, which was probably how I fell for it so easily in the first place, but I've already reported them to backpack.tf admins, as well as showing proof (of literally everything), as well as asking for those unusuals back. However, knowing they don't have the authority to wrench those items out of their inventory and return them to me, I've also contacted Steam support, explaining by side of the story, showing proof, as well as asking for those items back. I'm aware steam doesn't do support items returns since 2015, but a personal friend of mine told me that there was a chance they might (emphasis on the might) that they may help me out.

As for the people asking how I got scammed, it was just a simple impersonator trying to be someone with a top 100 backpack.tf profile. Cos, to be specific, if you know them. This is their account:https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198407275705 and this is the fake bot they used to jack my stuff with: https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561199051704931

Until then, more to follow

Below is a screenshot of the items I lost, for those who are curious. I was unable to get the item frames on-screen as the same time I snipped the, but like I said. $200 dollars worth of stuff, roughly around 100 keys worth of stuff.

Unfortunately the only way to get these items back is by trading back up with what you have left or buying keys and metal with real money (Sadly in which case isn't relevant for you from what you were saying.)

Unless the item owners will be generous enough to give them back to you free of charge.

The most important thing to do if you are going to keep on trading, is to remember the lesson from this scam, avoid similar cases like fire and of course reporting them ASAP.

Yeah, I understand that part. This is dealing with money, after all. I can only hope someone higher up can return my unusuals to me
