If 2015/2018/2019 effects could have been unboxed on old hats...

We all know that 85% of the hats obtainable from cases are extremely ugly or mediocre, or will often glitch to where the unusual effect is stuck in your stomach all the time. The artificial rarity system and the case-only restriction on 2019's unusual effects have led to thinks such as many of these effects being available in large quantities on bad hats for well under 20 keys.

But, let's say for a moment that instead of only case hats, ALL unusual hats obtainable from regular old crates could have these effects, and the effect distribution was more spread out to 1-5 per hat like most 2011-2014 effects, rather than fuckin Convict Caps having dozens of each effect. How would this have changed the market around effects from 2015-2019? Would the 2015 effects still be the most forgettable effects in the game, or would some of them actually be decent? Would the moon/star cloud effects be absolutely top tier up there with 2013 effects? Discuss below because this idea interests me, lmao.

more of them = less interest

if convict caps could have spellbound and darkblaze etc, then who would pay for overpriced spellbound pugilist?

it would affect the MARKET negatively

but for people that just want the effect then i guess it's okay

Would probably just drag stuff down. The more expensive halloweens are just old, and there's only so many of them. Supply is lower as time goes on, so demand increases. With a lower floor, people would want them less, and they probably wouldn't have overtaken Gens 1-3 in the way they have now. Is that possibility good? Is it bad? I guess that's subjective.

Maybe the novelty of certain "unique" effects wouldnt die out as quickly, like with fifth dimension. Itd be more sought after if it had a rarity stigma like with old halloweens, inverse being what we have, where people think it's a cheap effect because it's on cheap hats and dont bother trading for actually rare variants.

Pretty much this. Think of 2013 unusual trading days, the effects that looked good were pricy bc they looked good. Of course there were exceptions to this with specific hats being more rare than others but if you look at just effects then you'd have a much simpler trading scene without rarity being a factor (not as important of one). Just the good ol """That looks nice and people agree"""
