Friend hijacked account

About two hours from the current time my friends account was hijacked. He said quote "clicked one of those bottom corner Steam pop-ups". I'm not 100% sure what that means but he is very upset about it.

https://steamcommunity.com/id/thenewnazom56766/ (His current account)

https://steamcommunity.com/id/zomblaster5565 (His old hijacked account)

All the items are still in his inventory as shown through his old backpack.tf account. He cannot log into his steam authenticator or his account but if ANYBODY knows a way please share. I dont know how long until the person trades the items away or sells them so I am trying my best to help him fast.

Steam Guard prevents trading for 7 days I think? My advice would be ticketing Steam now, and communicating with Steam staff, otherwise I think you can't retrieve it easily (or at all)

Hope they don't delete the items though, good luck!

When I read the title I thought a friend of yours hijacked your account, I was going to say go right at their door and beat them up (or at least step on their shoes) hoho

Tell your friend to NOT MAKE ANY TRADE OFFERS. They will likely be canceled and sent to fake scammer accounts. Taking his items.

Tell your friend to follow ALL these steps

1) Change password immediately. Also change it anywhere else you have the same password (like e-mail)

2) De-Authorize all other devices here https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage

3) Revoke any api keys set. They are used to keep control over your account https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey

4) If all of the above doesnt help, contact steam support https://help.steampowered.com/

Happens with me. Only you can create a ticket to steam support.

They will ask some proof if ownership like last 4 digit of your credit card you used in it, CD keys etc. and valid govt. identity proof.

They will give it back to you after investigating. Tell him to do it fast.
