Why keys are so cheap ?

Hi guys,

I was wondering why keys are going down in USD value (right now 1.75USD on marketplace.tf). Steam sales are over I believe, Xmas cashout isn't here yet so I don't really get why it is like this.

Is there an explanation to this or is it just a trend in the TF2 economy ?

Thanks

He means in usd or real world money, where keys have remained pretty stable for years. Probably referring to Marketplace.tf steady drop in key prices throuought the past weeks.

I dunno if you’re joking about how refined’s value is going down but key value is intrinsic.

Possibly because of Tip of the Hats?

This.

ScrapTF are currently cashing out 3,250 keys for $1.78 (probably guessing to either get the funds to donate to the Camp One Step charity in association with ToTH or to cover it). Big sell wall (even bigger than Trump's), so you're almost certain to get undercutters.

That is not the value of keys, that is simply the ratio between dual currencies, any trader should know that by now. OP is questioning the SCM market trends.

Also, from my observations (this could be wrong,) when scrap cashes out, it's usually not uploaded all at once. They have had more keys there before, and will likely resupply soon. *pure speculation based on observed patterns*

It sometimes may affect the currency strength.

For eg:my country uses RM and 1 key is rm10 but can fluctuate to 10.60 but went down recently.

In terms of mp.tf,i have no idea

People are prolly just cashing out. But some of them panicked so they started undercutting each other.

It'll go back up.

Now is a good time to buy keys.

These guys...

Anyway thanks for the answers, but I think there is something else under the hood. One month back they were at 1.85$ on mp.tf which is still below our usual 2$

try reading the post description first instead of just the title.

he is asking this question based on the money via mp.tf.  not trading price

That's ref going down in price. Not keys going up.

The key price is going down. That's what this entire thread is about.
