Profile Rep....WHY?!?!?!

Putting aside the whole--profile rep is useless statement...

I can understand if it was a paypal trade then theres a reason for rep...

For one, the person wants more rep so they can do pp trades easier. Secondly, there was actually risk involved, and therefore Rep is actually meaningful.

But, so many trades i do, Ballcap--for x metal...taunt for y metal...etc... WHY does the other person insist on Rep? It is utterly meaningless unless you're dealing with pp (When was the last time you said yay or neigh to a regular trade because they had/didn't have rep..) Is having the most rep suddenly a new E-dick Award?

Over the course of my trading career i've accumulated around 200 Profile Rep...but noone cares about it...noones ever asked to see it...its never gotten me anything...so WHY...

WHY........I just don't get it...

Whenever someone asks for it I always ask them the same thing; "I don't mind giving it, but you know it's useless, right?"

A large chunk say "yeah, I know" and request it anyway (reasons vary). The rest are inexperienced traders who don't know any better (I usually try and explain what SOP is to them).

Most lol I ever got from this informal poll was "yeah, but I think it looks nice/pretty"--a statement I emphatically disagree with *cough*clutter*cough*

It is useless. I always tell them not to leave it if they ask. A lot of people leave it without asking. I never give people rep on their profile page, even if they insist on it; mostly because I'm too lazy.

I just leave +reps on peoples page to annoy them :D

I also leave +reps sarcastically to people who piss me off and/or try to rip me off or just beg me for free stuff or buy valuables for worthless shit.
