Yeah so, thats my scammed story, the guy names Strife had a very convincing story he did the middleman action with the guy, Buying Unusuals W/ Money. I'm currently a mess, so, I don't know why I thought is was so good, I won the items and just wanted it to be true. I am going to be starting a group, for people who have been scammed, so they can share their stories and to hopefully prevent people from getting scammed again. Offering to give him everything you have. You should always take any cash trade, even with a respectable and reputable member of the community with a pinch of salt, due to the fact that anyone can scam you in that instance and at times, you won't be able to do anything as to get back your assets.

Not exactly sure how giving both ends of the trade to the other party at the same time works, as you don't know whether the other party will actually go ahead with the transaction and you don't have any guarantee that because you've done your side of the deal, the other party has to uphold their side of the deal. As well as this, you said you'd go first, no resistance on that. Always attempt to make the other party go first / person with the money. Once you get the cash within your Paypal account, you are free to trade your stuff to the other party. If the other party does a chargeback, you can file an appeal against it. However, if you're willing to go first with your items, there's no chargeback feature for reversing that trade, and the cash transfer wouldn't have been initialised and thus, you can't do anything as to get your money. Furthermore, don't ever get caught up in another topic within a conversation if you plan to sell your items to that other person. Only worry about your cash trade and nothing else. Don't be misled and take in the fake sob stories and whatnot.

If you haven't done a cash trade before and haven't done it before, then obviously, don't do it with a random stranger. Whether they are legit or not, they can take advantage of you through the use of fake Paypal Invoices and since you don't know how to use Paypal, then you'll be fooled as easy as pie. As well as that, don't use your parent's paypal. I'm guessing you're still living with your parents and that's the thing. Since you haven't used Paypal before, you could have leaked private information and whatnot if you weren't careful.

You picked this up, however, failed to notice that it was pretty suspicious due to the fact that you hadn't done cash trading before with Paypal. 

I'd also remove that email address if I was you. You may be allowing someone to send spam to that email address that one of your parents probably uses for work.

The main thing that I'd like to bring up is the fact that you were so ignorant enough as to believe these people were trustworthy, putting your worries into their hands as to solve. From that, it's pretty much easy to take control and scam anyone if people did do that. You're a kid, as I infer. So am I, however, whenever one does a risky trade, it is preferred that you have experience with them. Start off with trusted users and trade with them first instead of allowing someone with the name "BUYING UNUSUALS w/ MONEY" who just came out of nowhere as to be your first cash trade experience. The thing to note now is that you can't get your items back, as you were too vulnerable to take up information off someone and not reputable sources e.g your own background checks on SteamRep, how to do Paypal trading.

The only thing you can do now is report both accounts with proof to SteamRep, Backpack.tf, TF2Outpost and Steam. Keep in mind that Strife - https://www.youtube.com/user/Strife- http://steamcommunity.com/id/lifewithstrife - is a common person in the TF2 community as to be impersonated. Notice his customurl being lifewithstrife and not any other alterations. Check your trade history if you need to find the other party's account you traded with.

Your backpack wasn't even close to being worth $1000 at the time of trade. For him to offer $1400 is already suspicious enough.

You do know that just copy and pasting stuff isn't real proof, right? You would need screenshots to make a case to Steamrep (these forums have nothing to do with steamrep, FYI) and I'm pretty sure the person who scammed you is already marked.

I would add as well that the hats that you won/were scammed were worth nowhere near $1400, especially not via paypal.  In reality you would have had to sell them at an extreme discount if going the paypal route and selling those hats for keys would have taken forever, unless you quicksold.  I would be surprised if you would have gotten anymore than $700 for all those hats and probably as little as $500.

Your unusuals weren't worth anywhere near $1400 in paypal, not even anywhere fucking close.  Take that from someone who's done thousands of dollars in paypal transactions (you'd know that if you had taken the 2 seconds it would take to check my bp profile, but we get it, research isn't your thing).  

 

I almost want to go out and buy some shitty unusual for you just to watch how long it takes until you manage to get that scammed from you too.

I lost my 500$ UNUSUAL, Time to report the kid on a site and warn people to report this person and to stay away from this person *goes to backpack.tf forums* huh since this is the main trading place I think thease guys well get em banned for me, *Posts the whole steam chatlog on backpack.tf forums with links* oh boy I'm pretty sure these guys will help me later on *gets a bit salty that they don't help them, then finds out that it was a STRIFE IMPERSONATOR* but then how could you not tell it wasn't a strife impersonator hmm lets see i couldn't tell these guys look like the same and they seem legit. 

But for real how could you not tell it was a strife impersonator like legit all you had to do is check the steamID and you could have asked before on the forums if the guy was a impersonator rather than coming here on this forum site to rant 

Pretty sure people have done this in the past but you just gotta accept it man you got outplayed and outsmarted. even I got sharked by man friend (by like 10 ref but then why does 10 ref matter that's barely anything) and he even laughs when I mention it and I laugh too because he outplayed me but later on he respects me for trading a lot and he even trust me to sell his items for him and i give him back what he wants or what he got off of me selling it (not kinda related to it but meh wanted to mention it). But you know when you get scammed you could just go to https://steamrep.com/and make a report there with pictures of the most Important parts of the chat rather than making a huge rant on here what do you expect us people to do. Give him the All Mighty Banhammer of Volvo to punish this guy that scammed you. No he will just get a huge negative reputation and will be tracked down if the person makes another Alt.

I bet the guy who scammed you is playing some great celebration music for no shitty reason because he is proud to scam people when his parents finds out that he is disrespecting his family but he was the "smarter" and sneaky person in the end.

I love the fact that he made a forum about it, made a group to help anyone who got scammed, people tries to compliment him and teaches him a lesson, now bitching and even bragging about having a "$500" sniper unusual who even had no experience with trading weapons if I'm not mistaken.
