Argos
I keep reading contradictory information regarding this subject, and I don't feel like using my own resources to test what someone out there surely already knows, so I'm asking here: If I put in 10 factory new blues into a trade-up, do I have a 100% chance of getting a factory new purple, or is it just a high chance, and I may actually in fact get a Minimal Wear purple? The wiki (when it actually loads) says that I would get a Factory New 100% of the time, and that TF2's trade-up system has some deterministic system for averaging the input wear quality, but other sources say the system is "copy-pasted" from CS:GO and always has some element of randomness in terms of what wear you recieve. Which of these is actually true?
The Oddball
You have a chance to get any wear of that that grade.
Weedoof
It probably would be easier for valve to just copy-paste it from csgo. I really doubt you'd be guaranteed an fn whatever color. Granted, trading up isn't usually worth it anyway, but still.
♥Prof. Sugarcube♥
Item drop system chances (wear) = Trade-Uo system chances (wear) = Unbox system chances (wear) More chance to get Field Tested, then WW, then BS, then MW, then FN
