You're missing a power supply and storage I'll tell ya that.

Generic WD Blue + some mehh EVGA/XFX PSU at the proper wattage will do him fine.

About 1.2K NZD (I'd like to pay less though). I'm in NZ. Yeah it includes windows/monitor/peripherals

Well, what games do you want to play and at what settings? Do you intend to stream or edit? Do you have any parts that you can reuse?

a 550w will be enough for anything that you would (realistically) end up with.

I want to be able to play CS:GO, Arma and DayZ SA with max settings. I might edit stuff in my spare time as well so that would be nice. I can reuse my hard drives and peripherals (except for the monitor)

Dear god the prices. I tried my best to give you an upgrade path and shaved a couple dollars by giving you an I3 for now which you can then upgrade to a i5/i7 in the future.

Oh would a Dell optiplex 960 case be able to hold all of that?

You'd have to measure how much GPU clearance there would be.

Also, I'd aim for an i5 + R9 280/380 (although that's going to push you over the budget by a decent bit with a monitor, but is well worth the money -- so I'd consider holding off on buying a monitor and just using one you already have.

Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury Blue 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  ($84.00 @ 1stWave Technologies)
Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon R9 380 4GB SOC Video Card  ($429.99 @ Mighty Ape)
Case: Corsair 100R ATX Mid Tower Case  ($87.00 @ 1stWave Technologies)

Like awesome said maybe depending on whether there is clearance. I think it would but if any issues arise you can probably saw some things off and or just save up for a "cheap" 50-60 dollar case like the NZXT 210 and you'd be solid. Happy pc building.

There's no such thing as a cheap case in NZ.

Damn it forgot about it again. I feel bad for all the Aussies and NZ people who want a new PC.
