Mengh.
<<< seems quite vague whereas ~ is suppose to suggest the price is around that ballpark, since it's using SCM prices.
Zapperzz
<<< seems quite vague whereas ~ is suppose to suggest the price is around that ballpark, since it's using SCM prices. Yes, this. SCM prices might be exact from the SCM, however they're meant to represent more than just the SCM which is why they use ~ (which means approximately)
pomp
~ in maths means approx. so I don't really see why, you just specify ~$7 to denote that the price is about $
Pilobacon
Why does this matter at all?
.Dusk
1st of all, the issue is so small that it doesnt even matter 2nd of all replacing it with <<< or >>> means less than and greater than. ~ is the symbol used to say about, around or approximately. and seeing as how scm prices are never stable this is the best symbol to use. naknak
It matters because SCM-based prices are inflated in a way that suggestion-based prices (which also display a tilde) are not. And "<<<" means "much less than".

CourtneyWendysCommercials
this post makes ~0 sense there is no reason to ditch the correct symbol for a symbol that makes no sense in the given location
Discovery
The relevance is real. "~" master race
naknak
maybe you should accept that ~ has a meaning.Sure, it means "about," but items with SCM-prices aren't "about" that price at all. They're much less. Hence "<<<".
Scootaloo
I honestly wonder if this was a legit question or was just b8.
