LaughingLollipop
So McBros (http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198036010622) and BadMan (http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198091421170) are currently running a nice racket where they both bet big if someone else has good value in a pot and then pass back the losers items (and appear to split the gains) http://backpack.tf/lotto/view/556e8029163d85715ca23cbc Mcbros loses his gifted c9 tyro to Badman http://backpack.tf/lotto/view/556e81a0163d85715ca23cbd very next pot, Mcbros is wagering same gifted c9 tyro + the kaytusha (that was won off another guy by Badman in the previous pot) Is this type of "Teamwork" allowable? Seems to be quite deceptive and not in the spirit of the lotto imo.

knavesmith
In a moral sense, it's complete douchebaggery, but in an official sense, it's completely allowed. However, the staff is already making plans on having separate lottos so that small betters can play safely without a sniper sniping their items. Tanner the Original Scout™
It's dickalicious but it's not illegal.

λngelღмander
It should be allowed and I'll explain why. They both have lets say an individual chance of 33% to win, right? So when they recover their losses from their friend, they break even 1/3 of the time, make profit (of 66%, but then they lose 33% to their partner as per the deal) 1/3 of the time, and lose 1/3 of the time. In the end, out of three plays, they break even once, make 33% profit once, and lose 33% once. So they break even. There is NO way for anyone ever to change their odds on the lotto by teamwork, they would have to manipulate the actual system. What they're doing is NO safer for them, although it may APPEAR to be. Should we disallow gambling practices that don't change the user's odds at all? TL;DR: Their odds are always the same, because of simple probability, doesn't matter what they do together they profiteer from gambling.
Zapperzz
I thought of a solution to this here: http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/35655-percent-chance-of-winning-cap/ Although I think the backpack.tf team plans to solve it with making a seperate "safer" lotto for smaller "safer" bets. LookAtMyChicken
Collusion isn't illegal. If that is the truth then fuck all the gambling sites and lottos. I know any casino would be quick to eject you if caught.

♠Derpeh♤
It isn't manipulation as they are not actually changing their chances or winning the lotto at all. Adding in 5$ to a 95$ pot means they still only have 5% chance of winning. What they do with their winnings is their business

Though it may look like they have some sort of advantage, if you think of the 2 as one person, they have the same odds of winning as if they were one person. To put it in completely new words, they are lowering the risk for themselves, but they are also reducing the reward for them selves individually.
