Why are regular old Strange Kritzkriegs worth the same price as a discounted Unusual hat? Is it just some stupid, long standing price or did someone buy all of them and now there's none left to sell?

It's expensive since it's a rare strange that comes from a rare crate. The crate which the strange kritzkreig comes from is #30. And #30 is a salvaged crate. Which is a very rare drop in TF2.

It was also rereleased in another crate, but was an extremely rare unbox.

Orignally the kritz was only found in salvage crate #30, which only dropped for 4-5 months. It was the rarest strange unbox from the crate. It's now found in crate #92 with 1% chance of unboxing it. That's the same 1% chance as an unusual.
