How to fix internal water damage on a Nintendo 2ds?

About a week ago, I got rly mad at my ds and kind of just dropped it without thinking which caused the screen to crack. I decided to buy a new one but last night while i was sleeping the ice i had in my water cup split onto the desk with my ds on it and eventually moved towards my DS. Im pretty sure my ds had been absorbing it all night and im really just fking pissed with myself right now. I swapped my potentially damaged battery with a different one, but that literally seemed to make it worse. Im wondering if there might be something that shorted out and if so what can I do about it? Im wondering if i should just try to switch my other ds screen with the broken one since my broken one turns on still, yet my water damaged one doesn't. I tried to play pokemon with my 2ds earlier disregarding the fact it had water damage and it ended up completely shutting down on me. After a day of trying to fix it whenever i try to start it up even, it just gives me a blank screen.

Life lesson, when tech gets wet:

  • Remove the battery / disconnect any power source
  • Open it up as much as you can
  • Put it in rice / in front of a fan for a week
  • Hope / Pray / Sacrifice / etc...
  • After a week, power it up

>has a 2DS

Damn man. Stop abusing your 2ds.

Try completely submerging it in rice and keep it there for a couple of days.

It sounds really dumb, but when you have put your iPhone through the washing machine countless times, you know what works.

Do i need to open it to the point where the inside it showing of the 2ds, or can I just leave it closed and stick it into the rice?

The more you can open it up the better.

Step 1: Put it in a bowl of ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Step 2: Place a fan next to the bowl of ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) and turn it on.

Step 3: Wait a week for the bowl of ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) to dry.

Step 4: ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

But seriously, try using rice and a fan, if all else fails, buy a new 2ds and get someone from a ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)hat forum to refund the shit for you.

put it in a bowl of rice and asians will come to fix it. (srsly if you got a warranty, use it, if not then best you can do is go to a computer repair specialist.

Lithium Batteries + H2O = You're gonna have a bad time.

I'd ignore the comments about rice atm since 3ds/2ds batteries are Lithium based so regardless you're screwed (Not entirely screwed but I'd still give it a try) I'd just get a brand new one or attempt to fix it yourself.

You'd probably need a new circuit board + battery(s)
