The one that nobody seemed to like has 30 votes? I hate to sound butthurt, I'm not going to win and I'm totally fine with that. There are lots of great entries..   But I can't help that think that p

I am a bit confused as to why my submission is not listed. I believe that the large amount of laudatory comments moved it above the other submissions, resulting in it being confused with the Guidelines thread.

Sorry, as per the rules, "if you write "backpack.tf" anywhere using any shade of pink, your submission will be automatically disqualified."

Michael's one is cool.

 

It really reminds me too much of the last supper. So i didnt vote on it lol 

 

It was really hard to vote on just one, good entries all unique enough that you want multiples to win

Isn't it how this site works anyway? :D Admins always have final say, I wouldn't let trolls put up the picture of hasselhoff on the front page just because people voted for it. That said, please stay on topic people. Feel free to comment on which one you prefer and vote, we're just looking for people's opinion!

I was actually being serious, people seem to complain about the amount of votes on a certain item. Votes do not matter correct?

Voted for micheal, the picture really gives you a nice, cozy feel once you enter the site. Really detailed, and even better, shows all the characters getting along, with their pimp on them.

I voted for gay scouts but michaels is pretty cool as well

 

And btw, farming or asking for votes is a bannable offense for suggestiongs :)

lol this is turning into a case of who can advertise the best rather then who has the best background just like it did at scrap.tf for the new icons :P

But I can't help that think that public voting isn't very fair.... As people can just spam their friendlist/community's etc for votes.

 

I could very easily do the same (I have 200+ friends on steam) but haven't because It's cheating and totally lame... I  have a sneaking suspicion this is what has happened here.

 

Yeah. Vain Glory's entry is the one that's winning, despite the fact that I don't believe anybody has posted that one as their favorite.

 

It's a shame, too, as I actually like that one... so let me be the first to say that his was the one I voted for. It's nice, clean, funny, and a step in a different direction compared to the others. My other two favorites were Dr. Buddha's (which is really good, but that misaligned Dispenser display bugs the hell out of me), and Daniel's first entry (which, as someone else pointed out, looks awkward with the misaligned Botkiller head, and the second backpack.tf logo on the same page).

prefered the Gay Scout one. The others were just ugly or did not make the site feel professional. Though I personally think the current one is still the best.

I like the current one, and I think Michael's is good, but I still think Daniel #1 is the best. Michael's seems too busy, and face it: it's a background. It shouldn't be drawing that much attention. Daniel #1 looks good, it's bright, it's cheerful, it's great. Daniel #2 and Michael seem more busy, and it has dark colors behind those slightly opaque boxes that list the prices.

My favorite was the one daniel post on page 2 of the thread :P

 

But choosing only from the ones on the list, Daniel #1 is nice and simple, and keeps the site looking clean. Micheal's is just too much, and the dark background doesn't bring a happy cheerful feel to the site.

I really liked the picture of Michael , It creates a homely atmosphere and relaxedness in a friendly party , I think it should be a background site.

I think all the other artworks submitted look really great, people put effort into them and I think that Vain's is a really unique take on the background, they clearly put effort into it. Personally I think it'd be great for it to win, it pushes past those set ideas of how a background like this should be (SFM). And if this competition becomes a monthly occurrence, I think it'd be really nice to see work that is different to everything else out there. I think a good way of doing it would pick several background that would randomly load, allowing people to get their work shown. So good luck to Vain and good luck to everyone else and well done for putting the time and effort into what you did, stuff like that will always show.  :)
