[Guide] How to find the profile of a SCM seller without a script

Hello!

I have found a little method to find the profile of a SCM seller after Valve decided to hide it.

NOTE: THIS METHOD IS INACCURATE AND ONLY WORKS ON NON-STOCK STEAM AVATARS... AND EVEN WITH ORIGINAL ONES IT MIGHT NOT WORK.

1.

Click the profile picture shown besides the price of the item and drag it into a new tab of your browser.

2.

If you have dragged it into the browser, there should be the profile picture of the seller very small and in a very bad resolution.

Example: http://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steamcommunity/public/images/avatars/f8/f8f6a7f746245d28d3b7219db1680c905ff1b17a.jpg

To change that, simply add a _full before the .jpg to the URL and press ENTER.

Example of the changed URL: http://cdn.akamai.steamstatic.com/steamcommunity/public/images/avatars/f8/f8f6a7f746245d28d3b7219db1680c905ff1b17a_full.jpg

3.

Copy the URL with the _full and go to Google Image Search. Paste the URL in there and hit ENTER or press the little blue button besides it.

Example:

4.

There should now be search results for the profile picture of the seller. If you're lucky, something related to a Steam Account should pop up. It doesn't always work.

Example:

As you can see already, the site shows the Steam ID of the user we just searched. It is basically a perfect search!

The Steam Profile of the user I just searched: http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198046487238

I hope I could help you with that. If you got any problems or even better methods to find it out, comment below!

And if you decide to release it somewhere else... GIVE CREDIT, I MADE THIS.

In order to do that, Valve needs to hide profile pictures.

nah just host with a different hash or different server.

also, by the time you actually pull up someones profile this way anything that is "cheap" will be gone.

This is highly unreliable, though.

I looked at the page and I couldn't find anything that could be used. The really interesting thing is, that they removed `owner` from `g_rgAssets`, but not for all games. CS:GO items still have the `owner` information there.
