1. I didnt say you were stupid

2. You are favouring you own country above others too much, if someone says something bad about your country, its an insult, but about someone elses, its a joke? Logic :o

3. Then it is about time you learn to take a hit

lol

>asks why question

>replies with yes

Firstly, I know you haven't called me a stupid, I meant to say I do realize what's going on around me.

Secondly, indeed, I'm favouring my country. I get pissed off when someone insults my country since, you know, it's my country, I feel prouf of it, and even though it might not be the most fantastic place in the world, I like it, and that's why I'll keep getting furious every time my country gets offended.

Thirdly, throughout my life, I've learn how to take a hit and assume when I'm wrong

And finally, yeah I mistyped. Fixed it though.

You come to the internet, asked on open-ended question, and expected serious replies?

I can't even get serious replies to the most specific of questions.

Edit:

Yeah, I guess you're right. This is my very first serious thread, so I was just testing the waters, if you know what I mean.

Let's see... Well from this thread you dont seem to have too much of a sense of humor.

I'm Filipino and the Spaniards came in to try and conquer us, failed, and we killed Magellan. With the women the spaniards took hostage and raped, they enslaved them. So no...Filipinos aren't exactly leaping into your arms. So I must say it was "ironic" when I went there and I was the one being served :)

As an American...You have a beautiful country that I enjoyed visiting. A lot of political unrest from what I saw. It's a nice country over all but I feel like when I was there, there was a lot of hostility, like, we americans were not welcomed.

BTW. there is nothing wrong with being patriotic with your country. It's encouraged, as Mark Twain said "Patriotism is supporting your country all the time and the government when it deserves it." However, there is a clear distinction when you are willing to laugh at another country but cannot take a joke about your own. Dont laugh at others if you can't even take a joke.

You're totally right there, but hey, hasn't you country also commited mistakes throughout its history?

Yeah, you're certainly right. Our country is rather berseck, let's call it like that, nowadays. Our last socialist president, Zapatero, led us to the crisis we're now into, and since then, we haven't been able to recover. Due to the crisis we're currently suffering, most of our country is divided by different ideas, such as Socialism, Anarquism and so on. We really appreciate the income tourists and foreigners give, but you sadly, you won't feel at ease here until this madness ends.

Hmm... Im not too great at our history. Our government has had a REALLY bad streak. However, we are also the only nation to ever successfully deposition a dictatorship using non-viloence (THe people's Power revolution). Certainly, no country was built without some sort of fight. It just so happens that you massacred the Philipines...and we won in the end. So I'll be frank when I saw that we dont really like spaniards!

But admittedly, we owe our Catholicism to the Spanish missionaries. They taught us peace, so we have you to thank for that. And when I say we dont like you, I mean nationally and historically. You could go there today and you might feel a little outta place, but you wont find discrimination.

Akala ko pa naman ako lang Pinoy dito ;)

As Alpha have said some of our people dislike spaniards because of our history. And to tell you the truth Alpha. We were already peaceful. We had a system back then that worked. Before the spaniards came. We were even trading with other countries.

We have to thank the spaniards to making us a developed country by the 1800's. Even if they were corrupt and they made us fight each other. In the end we won and got our freedom. Philippine history is sad, but it has it's lime lights.

Chill, you have to learn to grow up and take minor insults. It was very obvious that he was joking.

If he was talking about russians, would you laugh?

I get teased for being Scottish all the time, minor stereotypes like people wearing skirts and being tough is insulting, but i know my friends are joking, cuz i get them back :P

How old are you? You seem sort of young to be affected by what he said

Ermahgawd, another Scotsman in these here foreign forums!
