Sylvan
Tell me how this works. I got in a trade a Vintage Shooter's Sola Topi painted Team Spirit. When I get done with the trade, I go to look at my steam inventory and see that there is no text saying what the paint is. I've seen this before on something but can't remember where. Do people collect these items? How does this happen? Is this rare? Don't be respond rudely. Screenshot of the item. http://imgur.com/x1cOlK7 Screenshot of an item with paint text. http://imgur.com/ESkWabK EDIT: I think I once saw a bill's hat without paint text if that helps

Punishment_Fatal
Do people collect these items? How does this happen? Is this rare? 1. Never have I heard someone saying they were collecting hats that didn't have paint text. Sorry about that. 2. Probably some glitch in the system. The hat could've been restored by Valve as well, though I highly doubt it. 3. I'd presume it's pretty rare, as I myself have never seen anything like it. anime dipshit
The hat is duped, see here: http://steamcommunity.com/id/yosefgaming/inventory/#440_2_2264896580 Same hat ( http://backpack.tf/item/186879125 ) same lack of paint text.
Seminal Inhalation
As Erico said, this isn't a glitch. It's a bug with the coding system and this occurs on a regular basis. It isn't glitched, special, hacked, or anything. It's just normal paint most likely painted before a certain update which caused the bug to delete the paint text. Mr. Omani
I'm afraid it really is a rather common glitch, I've have 3 such items for years without even knowing, because I have items that I painted with TS a looong time ago. Which is what seems to be the case with this glitch, if an item was painted TS, before a certain time (I'd say before other team paints existed, as this only occurs in TS items), they now don't show the paint-text in Steam Inventories. Might be they updated TS sometime, and all the items that were painted before that are now like this. the Text Above is from this guy http://www.tf2outpost.com/backpack/25192 also there is ellis cap with the same glitch http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/17243882 and TS Bill's with same glitch http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/19730021
