Can someone explain to me as to why my backpack's dropping drastically?

Dear Backpack.tf Community,

I have recently experienced a sudden drop in backpack value of around 800 keys between the dates 4th of January 2017 and 5th of January 2017. I compared my backpack between the two dates and found no changes in bought/sold unusuals/items. I then went on to check if any of my unusuals had changed in price. I checked every single unusual and not a single unusual had changed in price. I have no clue why my backpack has decreased so much in value. Do you think you could know?

Key price did drop to 26 refs from 29, that's why. Your bp value in keys is still the same as before tho.

Whenever keys or refined metal drops in value your backpack value in USD drops as well. The key value of your backpack remains the same though.

Recently I've been buying Genuine, Vintage, and Unique cosmetics for cheaper than bp price. Most are painted but when I check my bp it's constantly dropping. Keys dropped from 29 Ref down to 26 Ref. Ref is valued at 7 cents each so all of your items that's valued in keys would fall by 21 cents per key which would have caused your ~$50 drop

Oh, cool thanks for letting me know. I thought it was because they didnt value paints or something. Thanks a lot!

My backpack value used to be 18k+, then it dropped to 16k and now its close to 15k, any specific reason why this happens ? I realized that backpack.tf changed the value of the keys, but it just keeps dropping again while no bad trade was made. 

 

Never mind, just noticed that refs and keys drop together, thats the reason why. No need to comment .

Now it's actually 24.66, but still - because of the key drop.

your backpack still worth same in keys is just when key drop in ref key drop in usd value

 

0,07 $ x24.66 = 1,72 $ 0,07 $ x29 = 2,03 $

 

your bp worth 9000 keys so 9000 x2,03 = 18 000+$
