animallover Posted September 21, 2017 Share Posted September 21, 2017 Firstly, I'm not referring to custom skins not working on a valve server, what I'm talking about is custom skins not working even though I'm not in a game and checking my items out. So after I found a skin I like on gamebanana, I install the skins and extract the files, then I copy the files into my tf custom folder. However when I open the game and check if the skin is working, 70% of the time it does not work. Do I have to open the extracted files until I reach the vpk folder then copy that into the custom folder? Plus I realised that if the file name is materials/models, TF2 won't open. Haxor Gaming Posted September 21, 2017 Share Posted September 21, 2017 From what I know, when Valve releases an update or patch (which they did a few days ago) it breaks the custom mod and the mod creator needs to fix the script so it works again.
