why would I want to use this site over marketplace or even mannco the no fees for buyers thing is cool until you realize it’s going to be tacked on to the price like marketplace. mannco is “cheaper” but then the fees make it around the same price. after gladiators hack and manncos hack, anyone dumb enough to leave high value items in the hands of random bots deserves to get cleaned like a chump. all of the writing on the site is fluff with 0 substance, and I fail to see the wow factor that separates this site from others. Every site offers “best security and support” just like papa johns has “the finest quality ingredients” or whatever bullshit they put on the box its called puffery and it’s legal for companies to do. “The reason why puffery is not prohibited under advertising or consumer fraud laws is that most courts consider puffing to be so immaterial and unreliable that it cannot form the basis for liability” basically so long as you don’t outright lie about the site you can say anything you want about your service or product and not get in legal trouble for it legal puffery: “We offer you the best security in the industry, no questions asked.” illegal puffery: “With our top of the line security teams on standby, your items are guaranteed safe with us.” If somehow by a miracle this goes live and thrives, I expect russell to make a ctrade.tf hacked thread soon after

Hello everyone, the results are out! Before we begin I'd like to give a big compliment to all the event participants. In only 4 days, over ~1500 suggestions were submitted. With 1451 points handed out by the mod team, we have set a record for the total amount of unusuals updated! We have only had to close a couple of suggestions. The overall teamwork and quality were outstanding. I'd also like to thank the mods, admins and event helpers for their hard work during this event! Last but not least, a big shoutout to Jesse and the marketplace.tf team for providing us with a whopping $550 in marketplace.tf giftcards in the prize pool. That's right, the prize pool got upped by $50 to include a new 3rd place prize since the score got pretty close and we felt like a 3rd place prize was in order. Let's get to the results. Placement Awards These are prizes that are based on the amount of points scored. First place - $150 marketplace.tf credit and a winners badge on your backpack.tf profile. The team with the highest amount of points and the ultimate winner of the Pricing Event is... Team 4! Second place - $100 marketplace.tf credit and a runners up badge on your backpack.tf profile. The runner-up team this event is Team 5! Third place - $50 marketplace.tf credit and a badge on your backpack.tf profile. The new bronze medal goes to Team 3! Mod Choice Awards These are prizes that were chosen by the price moderation staff. Mod’s Choice: Quality - $100 marketplace.tf credit and a mod’s choice badge on your backpack.tf profile. This event, the Quality award goes to Team 2! As per usual the Quality and Teamwork prizes were a tough call! While all teams delivered great suggestions and multiple teams were considered for the award, Team 2 ended up taking the prize home. Their impressive feat of submitting nearly 300 suggestions, with none requiring closure by a mod and only minimal adjustments were necessary on a very small amount of suggestions, speaks volumes about their commitment to quality. With only a few mod closes in over 1500 suggestions I would also like to take this opportunity to say good job to all the other teams as well! Mod’s Choice: Teamwork - $100 marketplace.tf credit and a mod’s choice badge on your backpack.tf profile. This event, the Teamwork award goes to Team 6! This event the teamwork was impressive across the board. However Team 6's efficient collaboration, heavily involving practically every team member in the process and their efficient internal coordination stood out. It was great to see all the amazing teamwork by the different teams! Best Leader - $25 marketplace.tf credit and a badge on your backpack.tf profile. The best leader/MVP this event is... Jarool! Jarool wins the Leader/MVP award due to his levelheaded approach, inclusivity in involving newcomers and an active role in guiding the team. He is able to seamlessly transfer his own suggestion knowledge to his team mates. It's no surprise that the best newcomer is from the same team.... Best Newcomer - $25 marketplace.tf credit and a badge on your backpack.tf profile. The best newcomer of this event is paperfacee! Paperfacee has made some high quality suggestions during the event. He went above and beyond to make high quality suggestions. His high activity level, willingness to collaborate with his team and quick grasp of the suggestion process make him worthy of the newcomer prize. Participation Awards These are prizes that are relevant for every active participant. Every (active) participant will be awarded a month of backpack.tf premium! This was applied before the event started for convenience reasons. In addition, you will also receive $0,10 of donation credit for each point that your team scored! If your team scored 100 points, you will get $10 of donation credit applied to your backpack.tf profile. If you wish to have your donation credit applied to your bot, let me know within 24hrs of this thread being posted. You can do so by pinging me in your team channel, sending me a discord DM or a forum DM. Do note that, unless the bot is completely your own, the donation credit cannot be transfered back. Shoutout to paying people to harass others for tf2 items. If somebody declines/ignores your friend request, stop bothering them.

I can see why -reps accrued from spycrab running would be viewed with a higher level of scrutiny, such as requiring proof of agreeing to the value of the wager. However, they should definitely be visible if valid - I don't see how breaking a spycrab agreement is any different from other agreements based on trust, like running from a cash trade. If I was planning on conducting business with a user, I would certainly want to know if they had run from any type of agreement in the past, and Backpack.tf is where I would first expect to find this information.

This clearly is a bait post, but anyways: 1. We don't use keys as a form of currency strictly because they open crates. It's because they were adopted as one of the few utility items in the game that is only purchasable via cash. It's the same reason why tools like name tags, paints, backpack expanders, and tour of duty tickets have maintained a similar value all this time throughout tf2's market, even when buds existed. 2. Whether Valve decides to add supply crates or simply cases into the game's future has nothing to do with the price of keys. This has been happening for years. 3. Buds crashed due to no longer needing them to be a key substitute once steam added more than eight trading slots to the game via the browser. Also with the introduction of SCM. They only remain around 7 keys due to rarity. Same principle as max's heads/HOUWARS/Caribous/Cats, etc. That's why we won't ever see them go back to the normal price ever again.

Meh. I wouldn't personally. You already tried, it's now HIS mistake for not accepting. Even if he wanted more, he could have been more reasonable with his ask. Asking for an Aussie or batsaber... lol I did once give someone an Australium Sniper Rifle for getting me in contact with an unusual owner I wanted to trade with. But it was a HUGE deal to me (couldn't get in contact by myself even after trying for literal months), and an expensive hat. So the 35 key tip was worth it. But in your situation... eh. I could see you giving him another chance at the previously offered items out of pity, but if you decide he's not worth it I personally don't see an issue with that.

I agree that -Trusts from spycrabs are important and should be a valid mark on someone's profile. I totally understand bp not wanting to get involved with handling reports or bans regarding spycrabbing, but their -Trust system is generally regarded as our community's reputation gauge. So recording running from a spycrab is completely valid IMO. Seperately.. I also want to comment on the fact that you currently can be -Trust'd for backing out of a trade. If anything THIS is something that needs to go away. To me, this doesn't mean you aren't trustable. Shit happens, and literally any good trader understands that. If you blindly take someone's word on a collecting offer then get upset when it doesn't work out... you're ignorant and that's an irrefutable fact. If you ever find yourself in a situation where someone is making a collecting offer for your item, request a deposit. 5-10% of the total trade value in pure. Example: 100 key hat, buyer will have the pure ready in 2 weeks. Okay, give me 10 keys now, the remaining 90 when the day comes. Then if the buyer wants to walk away during those two weeks, he forfeits his 10 key deposit, and the seller can walk away without feeling butthurt about losing his deal. Buyer pays the price for committing then changing his mind. Fair to both sides. But without a deposit, someone's word in trading means nothing. Stop accepting collecting offers then getting confused and upset when they bail. They always bail, because there is no binding agreement. This should NOT be a valid -Trust reason.

Lame ass update. My current wishlist for the game: - New mvm tour - New strange parts. Hopefully many specifically related to mvm, but also a few new ones for all modes - New KS sheens (White, black, light blue, a deeper green?) - New aussies - Hacker bots fixed, and therefore better anti cheat - Quality of life changes. I don't have them all written, but a good place to start would be a better/easier way to organize your backpack? - 4000 BP slots - New Summer case with cosmetics and effects ofc - New war paint case - New unusual wep effects. Only one I can imagine in my head is some sort of shocked looking one, I can imagine electricity jolting out the barrel, kind of clinging to the barrel of all the guns

Yeah like AncientPear said, the best way to check for dupes is at next.backpack.tf, because we had an item history wipe which is reaching almost 2 years now. Honestly, dupes imo don't really matter. It's been years since Steam duplicated items. If anything, dupes are like a second chance from Valve.

outside of straight up scamming im not sure what negative trusts are actually used for Ive given -trust for market manipulators with proof, taken down. False listings/fake buy orders, taken down. I get why a positive trust system exists but genuinely not sure why the negative version exists when 95% of the reasons for actually giving someone negative trust end up being invalid, even shit like spycrab running gets rejected

By giving them items you are validating their act. They now feel that if they are persistent enough, their begging might actually pay off. Essentially you're passively incentivizing them to continue this behaviour.
