PenguinSquared
Hey, all. I've been seeing CS:GO rep threads all the time from profile to profile, but never many TF2 ones. Also, BPTF trust is not the most reliable system to base rep off of (at least in my experience), as it is not moderated for alt accounts repping main ones and the like. So, with the help of a few friends, i've created a new TF2 Rep group for Steam rep threads, for any and all users to use. You can report scammers there, even if it's a non-steam trade, and appeal bans if they are unnecessary. There is also an API for developers to use to grab a banlist from the group's database, and a website for submitting scam reports. I am also looking for a team of trusted moderators for the group/site, preferably with experience modding these types of groups. If you want to check out the group or website, or even start your own rep thread, you can go here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/tf2rep http://tf2r-db.pe.hu Thanks, PenguinSquared

Salvage
Backpack.tf trust is moderated and ratings made from alts are removed, if you see an invalid rep you can report it. I honestly don't think your website is necessary, we have enough scam/trust related sites. Lady Drug, Kostek, Zytoep and 4 others

λngelღмander
I think the backpack.tf trust system is far more reliable than a steam group because it is policed by experienced and vetted moderators, and you can see the amount of rep each person leaving a positive trust has at first glance, which sets it apart from all other reputation systems. I think on your steam group you should change the pastebin links to direct profile links or just use extra space, it made my soul bleed having to go through the outbound link process with steam and all that. Steam groups are far more easily exploitable than backpack.tf's trust system. Setting all hypotheticals aside, look at the absolute shitshow that the CSGOREPorts rep group is: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/CSGOREPorts Even with an active moderation team and all, that group still has a lot of fraud. A scammer can post a fake rep thread and have multiple people post rep on it within a few hours, and that thread could stay up for a while before being closed. It's also not easy to see what kind of rep the people leaving rep have, whereas on backpack.tf you can easily see if the person who posted a trust has any rep themselves. Even when someone posts positive trust with their alts (which happens a LOT less than you think it does,) its easy for a moderator to tell, and easy for the user to tell as well because an alt most likely has 0 trust. I think using steam groups at all as a rep system is unreliable, third party rep sites like sourceOP, backpack.tf, and other communities rep threads are much better because they're harder and more time consuming to spoof and commit rep fraud on.
