I want to be a part of the tf2 economy in some way, so I thought I should start a price change on backpack.tf... But I can't find out how to do so so please help me.

Thank you,

Hurtful

1. select the item you wish to suggest for e.g: http://backpack.tf/stats/Genuine/Stainless%20Pot/Tradable/Craftable

2. click suggest a price, you will be taken to a page like this: http://backpack.tf/vote/Genuine/Stainless%20Pot/Tradable/Craftable

3 (THIS STEP IS VERY IMPORTANT). check the market to see what this item is being listed for and is selling for.

4. use sales or buyers (above current price) if raising the price, use unsolds and sellers (below current price) if lowering the price

5. your opinion is not accepted as proof

6. you're expected to find the proof yourself, and not just tell people to "go look on outpost there's tons of proof there"

7. make sure you read the following 4 links before posting your suggestion:

I probably missed a few things or told you to do something wrong but it's a short guide that will help you for first time suggestions.

The process of unusual price suggesting however, is rather different from normal items (And arguably significantly easier). To do so, follow this process.

1. Find an unusual you want to do a price suggestion for

2. Find an effect on that hat you want to suggest on (Look for effects with outdated prices or are unpriced)

3. Click "Suggest a Price"

4. Here's where it gets tricky. Because unusuals are rare and don't (usually) sell often, you only need two or so sales that must have occurred within 3 months. To find sales, you need to find histories. Check:

  • Outpost, to see if any are for sale. Click on them to see the history, and see what other people in the history have sold it for
  • Backpack.tf Classifieds, even more direct. Click on "History" when highlighting the item in classifieds, and you will be able to directly see the item history, and you can shift from the last day the item is in one person's backpack and what they have the next day to determine the sale
  • Previous suggestions, which will continue histories you can view and hope it has sold since then
  • Bazaar, don't expect anything here

5. Now you need to add up all of what the item sold for, and factor item overpay if necessary (Don't worry about it for Australiums, Bills, Max Heads, Earbuds, and keys)

5.5. If you have to calculate the value of a Spec. or Prof. Killstreak item (Don't worry about normal killstreaks), go on SCM and find 5 sales around that time. Average them and divide by the price of keys.

6. Now that you know how much it sold for, you need to display the "Before and Afters" of the inventories in your suggestion, along with your calculations.

Congrats, you've made an unusual suggestions. As a tip, bp.tf premium makes it absurdly easy, as you don't need to hope that you can find a version of the unusual up for sale and hope that its sale has happened recently, as you will immediately be able to call up the histories of every copy of the unusual with premium. Good luck!

Thanks, I made a price suggestion on the Hero's tail to lower it to 5 ref because all the sellers AND buyers are doing it at 5 ref

Thank you for the info, I will definitely use this if I want to do an unusual price suggestion! Thanks again ;)
