my final pc build help thread

So after making like 5 other threads, this will be the last one as I actually have the money and an idea this time. So heres the lowdown:

Budget: 500-600$

CPU: Intel with 4 cores/3 GHZ

GPU: Play games gud (High/60fps)

Cooling: as quiet as possible (my current one is very very loud and it is annoying)

Memory: 1TB

Maybe a nice monitor and keyboard if the budget allows. Thank yee for the help.

>500 budget

>wants intel quad core

a 3.2ghz quad core i5 costs ~$175 alone

amd is more suitable for that build

Yeah, an i5 isn't happening at this price. The best I could do for less then $600 and still get you a monitor was this: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/sVXNVn

It should get you 60fps on mediumish settings, idk about high though.

As for the operating system and keyboard, you gotta figure that out yourself.

Your best bet is probably to wait for awesome mccoolname to throw you a build that completely trounces mine.

why a 265 rather than a r9 270 which is the same price?

also why not upgrade to a fx 6300 for like $10 - $20 extra?

also why even bother with a cpu cooler on a budget build? you can easily upgrade that later on when you decide you do need to oc. it would be better to use the money you have now to get a better gpu/cpu and upgrade the cpu later on than to get a shittier cpu just so that you can oc day 1

also why a disk drive this is 2015, if you need a disk drive get a usb one so at least it can be used between all your house's pcs

This is my (pre)finalized build. Without the rebates the price hovers around $575.

-$500-600? Yup

-quad core i5 with 3+ghz? Yup

-GPU that can play games at high/60fps? I need a full list of all the games you will be playing to make a judgement. You can find a gtx 760 for $130.

-Cooling? Stock is good enough for this.

-1tb HDD? Yup

-Peripherals? Nope, not in this budget. Connect it to a tv with hdmi lol.

It's a pretty good build for a starter, but you gotta upgrade soon to keep up.

Your gonna need a bigger budget to get a quiet pc with a quadcore intel of any kind, with a gpu they'll play games on high with a monitor. for the gpu i'd suggest an amd r9 390 seeing as it outperforms the gtx 970, but if you want to go a bit lower you can get a gtx 960 or whatever the amd equivalent is ( probably the r9 380x but i don't know) . for the cpu, you can get any i5 really, seeing as your not gonna overclock due to noise (i assume) but if you can try to get a 4670k or a 4690k because they can be overclocked while the others cannot. as for everything else, make sure you get a power supply from a reputable company such as corsair or cooler master, 8 gigs of ram will be more then enough for gaming, don't cheap out on the motherboard if you can help it, same with the case. As for keeping it quiet, you can get power supplys that are meant to be quiet, even with no fan, just google it. Noctua makes very quiet and good fans, but they are a bit expensive, so if you can't afford them maybe do some research to find a cheaper alternative. msi seems to make the quietest graphics cards right now, but maybe research that as well. your gonna need a third party cpu cooler as well because the stock is quiet and ineffective. you can get one for cheap that allows you to put your own 120 mm fan on, so use a Noctua fan. Noctua also makes their own cpu cooler that is quiet and good. If you follow these tips you'll get the computer you want, but it'll be more then 600 dollars unless you buy a bunch of used parts. if you have any questions, just add me on steam.

Im running an r9 270x, its getting old now but still runs things pretty well. Have a check around all your friends, when i was building i managed to get an i5 for free from a mate of mine. Its old, but it works, so technically i saved a bunch there. Ask around all your relatives/friends, do they have any "junk" pc's hanging around, one could be bearing an i5 and 6gb of ram like mine was.

This build looks good to me, also I didnt say I needed a monotor, I have a fairly ok one now.

As for the games ill be playing, Euro Truck Simulator and Gas Guzzlers Extreme as my PC can barley run these games currently. TF2 and CSGo will most likely run great on these so its not a worry.

gas guzzlers extreme will run very good. Euro truck simulator? The recommended specs states that it needs a gtx 760, but a gtx 750ti isn't too far below the 760. I also saw a gtx 760 for $130 somewhere if you really need it. Tf2 and csgo are cpu intensive so it will run at a very high fps.
