RoNsTiG
Hey, From today, I've been having terrible lag problems in TF2. I've had my laptop for a year so I thought it was just age finally showing, however, I cranked Skyrim up to ultra and installed an HD texture pack: 120 fps... TF2 at bottom settings: 30 fps. What the hell is happening? Specs: i7-4710MQ @ 2.50 GHZ (8 CPUS) 8 GB RAM Nvidia GTX 850M wat do?

xoㅤ
TF2=Shit thank you for your contribution anyways, could it be because of the fact that you cranked up skyrim and installed the texture pack thats making tf2 run so bad?

Langweenee
You should turn Skyrim off before you play TF2
RoNsTiG
You should turn Skyrim off before you play TF2 I obviously don't have them running at the same time...
RoNsTiG
no. Are you sure its not your internet? My ping is generally good, and it's definitely fps lag, not internet.
Ixenzo
Check for forced vsync, some people had problems with it turned off everywhere but in nvidia control panel thingie.Try installing a fps config. Unlikely, but some scripts may cause horrible lags up to game hangs. Check CPU/GPU load while having those lags, maybe it's DPC (but again, very unlikely). Tanner the Original Scout™
It is a Source engine game after all. Verify cache? Dedicate like 2 core to TF2 alone.
Rambro
It is a Source engine game after all. Verify cache? Dedicate like 2 core to TF2 alone. How exactly would you dedicate cores to TF2? I'm no tech genie, excuse me if that's a stupid question.

Set the CPU cores to "CPU 0" and "CPU 1"
