AwesomeMcCoolName
The stock cooler is fine, a cooler master hyper 212 if your anal about noise. Also a GT730 is barely better than integrated. You don't need a sound card. And those are all USD prices. Also, for NZ you need to bump your budget...$600 is about enough for a potato. Anything cheaper than $900 is a serious potato, and even $900 doesn't get you much. And an i3 + decent gpu > i5 + shit gpu. My computer cant handle csgo on lowest everything, also tf2 runs at 12 fps :/ my budget would be around 600-750 The only concern I'd have is that PCPP only lists Haswell Refresh i3's which may require a bios update on a non h97 board (which could be an issue -- so you should either see if any NZ stores have an i3-4130, or get an H97 board) PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i3-4150 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor ($165.00 @ PC Force) Motherboard: ASRock H81M-HDS Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($74.00 @ 1stWave Technologies) Memory: Crucial 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($52.90 @ PB Technologies) Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($79.00 @ PC Force) Case: Zalman Z3 Plus White ATX Mid Tower Case ($56.35 @ PB Technologies) Power Supply: Corsair CX 430W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($93.00 @ Paradigm PCs) Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($139.14 @ PB Technologies) Total: $659.39 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2014-12-18 14:05 NZDT+1300

AwesomeMcCoolName
I was told AMD is bad? is it? My friends irl have told me not to get it, but im not too sure why? AMD GPUs are good, but right now their CPUs are really falling behind. They have two/three lines of CPUs: FX, Athlons, and APUs. The FX chips are three years old and not really good as they're not any cheaper than Intel and they don't perform better as a whole (in rendering an FX8 is a good budget option, but other than that Intel pretty much wins across the board). Then on the tight budget is the Athlon series (namely X4 760k/860k) which is a good budget chip thats aimed to compete with Intel's Pentium chips; and is better than Intel in anything that can use more than two threads, but something like a Pentium G3258 is superior in single threaded tasks. And then finally are APUs, which are good, but only good on EXTREMELY tight budgets where a discrete cpu + discrete gpu is out of budget. TL;DR: AMD has three series: FX: FX4300, FX6300, FX8320 APUs: (A4-5500 -> A10-7850k) Athlons: X4 760k/860k (there are more but none worth mentioning) In gaming: i7 > i5 > i3/8320 > 6300 > 4300 > 860k/760k/Pentium G3258 > APU In rendering: i7 > Xeon E3 > 8320 > i5/6300 > 4300 > 860k/760k > G3258
