No unusual <12 keys again? UPDATE

Recommended Posts

3 Months have passed since I updated ALL unusuals to at least 12 keys. Back there I used this thread in the old forum for organisation: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/meetthestats/discussions/1/846940248335694396

Now look at my last suggestion: http://backpack.tf/vote/id/510ef296ba25365207000002

I suggested 12-14 keys and it's 9-11 keys now.

You may think that quicksellers would pay less now because keys are worth more, but look at this 12 keys quickbuyer list:

NEED MORE LINKS!

NO LINKS.

NEED MORE LINKS.

INSERT QUICKBUYER HERE!

If someone find other 12 keys quickbuyer post 'em here.

With so many quickbuyer at 12 keys, everything below is a even bigger quicksell and should not be considered as real proof. So 12 keys should be the low end for every unusual.

So my plan is to do this thing again, but of course EVERYONE is invited to help me.

1. Search for an unusual with a price <12 keys.

2. Make a suggestion (My lowest range is 12-14 keys).

2a. Link here to show the cause and the 12 keys quickbuyer list as proof for the low end, and as a bonus, advertise this thread. :P

2b. Only linking here is not enough, you have to search for the real proof of course.

3. Make the world a better place.^^

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

UPDATE:

Things have changed, all my quickbuyer links are closed now. I would like to see at least 5-10 active links and ffs please put some effort in these suggestions, just search outpost once or I may end up closing on of those suggestions. So go and find more links.

I made a suggestion to lock the unusual prices lower price at 11 or 12 keys. Hope everyone agrees.

So, we are going price fix now. So hypicritical, such bull....

Do you even understand what's going on?

Well, several people are buying every single unusual for at least 12 keys.

There's the explanation.

Wooo, my 100th post!

Well I'm not sure if that is necessary but hey, why not if it's easy to do.

And I'm still not sure what he means exactly. :/

Well reflecting accurate prices is clearly manipulating the market...

Yeah setting a standard, minimum low-end that is rather easy to find willing buyers for is obvious price manipulation. I mean just look at craft hats and 1.33 refined. Who's to say I shouldn't be able to price them for less?

There is a mechanical reason (scrap.tf) why some hats have dropped to 1.33.  There is no such reason to arbitrarily set a low end price.  Would you set a ceiling on prices?  What if some hats won't even sell for 12 keys at some point.  If the quickbuyer successfully buys for, lets say, 9 keys.  Is that evil?  No it means that it was the best deal for the seller within a certain time span.  Also, it means that the quickbuyer is concerned about reselling it more more.  They may be forced to sell it for bellow the 12 so they can move on from a bad investment.

The problem for all of you is that you have never had a tf2 economy that has not grown.  Up until recently tf2 has enjoyed an increasing fan base.  As far as I can see it has reached its threshold of growth which means, for the trading world, all items are subject to price decreases as the market shrinks.

The recent trade price increase in keys has accelerated this because it has made it more difficult for low level player/traders to enjoy the trading aspect of the game.  They are choosing to not buy or not play.  Lots of options out there and part of tf2's charm is the personalization of the character.  If that becomes more difficult than some will opt out.

Now some of you are saying, why do we care about the low level player trader?  If there are fewer of them then mid level traders will make less gain.  If they make less than they don't buy mid to upper level items for them selves or to resell.  With out this than all unusuals will take a hit too.

Lets just predict the future huh? At the moment unusuals show no signs of ever going below 12. The couple I've seen at 11 dissapeared in a matter of hours.

Scrap.tf came after we set the limit to 1.33 on craft hats. It's been there for the same reason as unusuals. If you want to sell a craft hat fast, you'll find a buyer for 1.33 easily. If you want to sell an unusual fast, you'll find a buyer for 12 keys easily.

As a guide, we have to let new users know tey can get AT LEAST 12 keys for their unusual.

What happens when a hat will not sell at 12 keys for some time?  What if the market won't pay it?  Believe me, it will happen.

Also, not all hats now priced at 1.33 were that way before scrap.tf.  Scrap.tf pulled many down.

Prices get updated, as with any other item.

http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/1187-no-unusual-12-keys-again/ - not sure this is valid any more

Let's look at some of the commonly used links:

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/10321185 - stopped buying 1 month ago

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9717664 - was at 12, now at 11

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9659785 - was at 12, now at 10

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9705504 - changed from buying any to buying some for 12 keys --> this is the link used in all the proofs, but look at the actual trade. he's not actually doing this any more.

http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9625303 - was at 12, then to 8, now discontinued

The buyers for any unusual for 12 keys have lowered to 11 keys OR are only buying select unusuals for 12 keys now.

I don't think this is valid any more and this thread in and of itself should not be proof to raise all unusuals that were bumped down due to currency changes back to 12-13 keys.

And if a link (liddo's trade) is used as proof, it must say explicitly "buying any unusual for 12 keys" or it shouldn't be used as proof.
