Levels 1 and 7 Max's Severed Heads

People say that 1 and 7 are worth a lot less than the other levels, right? Well stats.tf tells me that there are around 1.4k level 1s and about 80 levels 7s. Why is level 7 so low?

Because traders are dumb. It was about how they used to be massed duped.  And even though all the duped max heads were id wiped and made "new" , traders still find a reason to devalue them.

Devalue the 7s for no reason. But the devaluation of the 1s seems fair. Really, though, I don't see any difference between a 1 and a 2. Really, in the end, they're both max heads. Who cares if they're duped or not?

Pretty sure i've topped any idiot andy's dealt with.....managed to find someone who simply can't understand that 1 scrap is technically .111111111 (cont.) ref and .11 ref is just shorthand and leads to rounding errors....Apparently, 4.88 ref*6=29.28 ref, and i'm trying to mislead him by saying its actually 29.33 ref....

 

P.s. Apparently, by his logic an easy way to make money----sell all your scrap for refined (via trading), and then smelt the refined, and you'll make tons of profit.

I see no reason why lvl 7 should be worth less.

 

Lvl 1 wasn't mass duped that much, 1st, valve decided that promos shouldn't have special levels right in the middle when max heads could be received (pre order bonus for sam&max) and 2nd there was a glitch that you could get max heads even if the game was released. I think that was the whole story.

Simple, find another trader. I personally sold one of my Max's (1level) at the price of 60 $. Even tho people offer only 45$ per. People are dumb. A rumor will appear and everyone will follow.

When duping was first discovered, there was a bunch of 1's and 7's for sale.  Granted, the numbers don't bare out the duping of 7 but at the time, there were no sites or if so note used widely.  Thus, many of us traders stayed away from 1 (which were definately duped) and 7, which was more rumor/ bad concincidence.  Given that the perception is that 7 is duped, I personally wouldn't pay full price.

To this day I'll never understand why duped items on the whole are devalued than others. The point of unusual hats from the start is to look cool while killing dudes in the game. Duped hats still get that same reaction. Nothing changes. The devaluation of duped hats started with Outpost lowballers I believe, trying to pay less for your duped hat. Soon enough the majority of the community accepted it as a 'dirty' qualifier.

 

This is just like in the real world how people are starting to replicate the creation of Diamonds, and the diamond investing companies are trying to devalue them because these people are creating diamonds with the power of machines, and not purely natural means. It's utter bull****. A diamond is a diamond no matter what at the end of day, it will still be the most powerful material known to man, it will (well maybe not in the future) still sit at the top of the gems pyramid.

Honestly Crabislav, I've noticed you never have anything constructive to add to topics. Not all people are "scrubs". I ask for a discount on lvl 1s and 7s because some person started the trend that duped items are worth less. Even though I will be quitting trading after I restock on keys and buy a max, I might need to re sell it later on if i need the funds it will produce and no one buys a lvl 1 or 7 max at full price.

 

Tl:dr if you don't have anything constructive to add, don't comment.
