Ersin
I've just checked scm and keys are being sold for 2.45$-2.47$. keys being sold this high is alarming and i'm sure the hype is over, unless thats still the reason keys on scm are being sold high? So anyone that can give their opinion?
Grimes
Keys being sold for more on scm = higher demand = higher price. Keys don't need a drop.

Grimes
It simple economics. Higher demand allows the sellers to increase the price. http://stephansmithfx.com/explanations/supply-and-demand/
Aria Heavy-Hand
Keys aren't gonna see a drop at this rate. They're raising more slowly, but it's certainly no drop. Although if you think about it, this is a lot like the Great Depression. Those who have a lot of keys keep getting more keys with their investments and riches, and those who are poor, such as myself, stay poor because they can't afford keys with their low incomes. Makes sense, doesn't it?

Kleril
It's unbelievable how many people don't understand key and refined prices. It should be mandatory that people take an economics class before being allowed to post on this subforum.
MeatballHLM
It will probably go down to usual $2.30 - $2.40 range when this update hype is over few months from now. Doesn't really matter to me, I bought my keys for $1.70 from Webmoney key sellers.

Ersin
It simple economics. Higher demand allows the sellers to increase the price. http://stephansmithfx.com/explanations/supply-and-demand/ I know that, but I just thought that if the price for keys on scm is almost as same on the mann co. store. That it might go down, but looks like the new update made a hype that will last longer than others. (Or maybe it's just me?) It's unbelievable how many people don't understand key and refined prices. I understand why keys are rising because the use of refined has dwindled or has no use at all than buying things worth refined and keys are always in demand and has more use than refined. (Unboxing, using it to buy items that cost 1 key or more,More space for your bp etc.) What i'm really troubled is about the prices on scm being as same as mann co. store. Nothing else. ♠Derpeh♤
It use to be 2.10 on the SCM like a few weeks ago when dota 2 keys suddenly crashed It crashed because of the update and there was a brief key sale wasnt there?
Ersin
I don't see how that is a problem. Idk. Never really was an expert on the market. Just thinking if the price on scm and the mann co store are almost the same. Since If refined stops going down and keys are same as mann co. store (Cash) on scm, Keys will stop rising. But with paypal in the picture that might not happen. Like I said idk this are just opinions that's going to be swept away with one simple and logical sentence. Baloo
SCM key prices and in-game trading of refined to key converversions are two entirely separate entities. Keys have already been almost the same price as the Mann Co. Store for a long time, however, the price also fluctuates due to different updates or game sales that cause more people to sell their keys which causes greater undercutting of prices for a brief period. I can remember back to November of 2012 when the SCM was just a month or two old and I was selling keys for $2.
d0 ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
It's really different with the SCM keys value too, since they usually drop when it's Steam sale or increase when there's been a price adjust in a country/region.

Scootaloo
Go and advertise on youtube not here and for a guy with a ton of unusuals I expected a better attitude against other people. But MOST people with tons of unusuals are douches. Proven fact.~ Finding one that won't dick wave them to your face, call others poor, or ones with good attitudes is like finding the Holy Grail in the middle of a desert in the summer surrounded by cacti while Pikachu dances on the wings of a squid on top of a hot sauce covered pancake. ♠Derpeh♤
But MOST people with tons of unusuals are douches. Proven fact.~ That's because most traders who have actually traded up and started from scratch after a while get annoyed at the endless complaining and bitching about "keyz shoulds beh 2.33 againz". What most of the newer traders dont understand is that you need to put some effort if you want something and not just bitch about everything, i dont exactly consider myself a douche but after a while the complaining really is annoying too many traders think that can bump from a 20$ bp to 500$ over night. Before i would have the patience to spent around 30-45 mins explaining to newer traders how to get into serious trading but recent times all adds i get are people looking for quick rich methods or they add me to complain about how keys are so expensive to the point where ive stopped posting my guide to suggestions. Heated Bread
If you look at this graph, you can see that the amount of refined in the game is still steadily increasing. Unless that changes, the metal price of keys and other items will continue to rise.
