I was thinking along the lines of #1 because of the paints and the name tag, but what do you guys think are good, affordable crates to unbox? boredwatdo Posted April 8, 2014 Share Posted April 8, 2014 #20, #21, #24, #25 if what you're looking for is a good unusual. Otherwise I'd go for #28, #31, #33 or #38. What was uncrated from them doesn't mean anything and nothing else will. All crates have the same chance for an unusual, less items in it or not. However, a reliable way was (pre-April 1st update) to open a #60 reserve crate; Get two keys. Buy a crate with one, open with the other and be lucky not to get a Fan o' War. From personal experience and in my opinion, I think it's best to stay away from crates lower than #19 except for #17. The rest have a bad chance of breaking even. I mean, you could still get a shitty hat with green/ purple fetti, with like a 50% chance of getting a good effect (burning, scorching etc.) - in the new crates (83 is the best new one, you can have a very profitable unboxing and still have no unusual) you could get disco or Miami on a hat like a BoA if you got an unusual.
