Haven't played in a while, but just came back and remembered that I crafted it. What could I get for it nowdays?

I'd say you can get at least 30 keys for this. There's not a single low craft widowmaker for sale right now and primaries are generally more expensive.

Had a quick look and someone said they sold their #15 widowmaker for 50 keys, so that should give you an idea.

would adding a strangifier or a basic killstreak  to this increase it's chances of selling? or increase its price?

Back when I actively traded low craft numbers over years ago something like this would go for 2 to 5keys, 10keys if you found a 'crazy' collector. i don't have experience with todays market when it comes to craft numbers but I suspect you can get more, despite that I don't think it'll be easy to sell, just as it wasn't back then.

I would recommend not applying a strangifier nor killstreak. Sometimes when restoring craft numbers it will remove the craft number from the item, and people would much rather have an original named craft number item with the craft number still on it then one where its been removed and I'm not even positive strange can be removed from widowmakers. It would be like dipping an ancient coin in acid maybe it'll be prettier but its forever been modified in a way thats not desirable to collectors. For the same reason keep name tags and desc tags far away from it.

yeah, there's no un-strangify. modifying items in irreversible ways is generally bad for value. plus the Widowmaker and the strangifier unapplied will be worth more as separate items than if it was applied into one item.

I agree. I personally think people like non-strange variants more as well. This apply for Bonk Boys, Big Chiefs and Villains Veils to name a few.

I disagree. From my experience, low crafts and collectors items which can be strangified sell better and fetch higher prices. I would not be surpised if this sells for 50 keys. It would take a while, but it would sell

Furthermore, I do not think there is a way to remove the craft number.

Citation needed. I've never heard of a single case where an item has "lost" its craft number from restoring it. Of course a craft numbered item won't display the craft number if it's renamed, but removing the custom name restores the craft number to the display.

While in theory it sounds good, it's not worth the risks of resetting the craft #

I wouldn't modify it in any way

I respect your opinion, Dom. I just agreed with Apo that for this instance the Widowmaker strangifier cost a decent bit.

Ignore the fear mongers about "resetting" a craft number, that's hooey, I strangified and pro ks'd the #8 phlog a few months ago and the number is still displaying fine in game.

Do listen to the people saying adding the strangifier is going to make you lose money and attract-ability for someone who wants it not strange.

However, I am interested in it, been meaning to pickup a 'cool' widowmaker recently. Going off of abstract's mentioned 50 key sale, that one was already strange so it would have a bit more added to it since the strangifier is ~20 keys. My offer is 35 keys and one of the buy a life taunts on the 7th page of my bp.

They've changed how reseting items worked a handful of times, I'm not sure if its still a possibility, but I promise you there was a time when you could remove the number from a craft number, like the name would no longer have it. There's also the whole resetting the crafter's name which I'm almost positive still very much is a possibility. I can't promise the first one is still a risk, all I know is I've seen it happen before though there have been changes to how it worked since then. I personally wouldn't risk it.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm still debating of I want to sell at all. If I decide to, you'll be the first to know though.
