am I stupit

DBD law is selling 75k, buying 58k

Strange DBD law is buying for 62k

Law strangifier is selling 170k, buying 45k*, PS is 78k

Parts added on mine, around 10-13 keys idk, who cares

By my stupid ass logic, since the normal DBD law is 75k (lowest seller right now) and a strangifier is 170k (only damned seller and why would I add 75 onto 170 for a price)**, 180 is reasonable

So am I STUPID, absolutely STUPID to ask for 180 keys, or is there something I'm missing like some pulled-out-the-ass equation to determine the rightful value?

*Taking B/O instead that'd be 107k, less than what other guy had listed which I forgot

**Then again, 70 + 70 = 140, maybe that'd be more realistic, and I will try it, but PROFITTTTTTTTTT

***Yes, I googled this but it's still not super duper clear

****Yes, I COULD just tack on 20-30 keys but then some dumbass would be like "hurrrrr actually you didn't use this stupid thingy some guy made up to price this stuff" so I can't win either way

1) Strangifiers used to be cheap

2) You can unbox strange unusual laws from unlocked crates

Gut feeling says you'd probably add like 25% mainly bc point 2

Strangifier only really can add value to effects out of crates that cannot have a Strange unusual quality, for example Eotl and Robo. This can apply to any hat that has a strangifier.

Since the unlocked multi-class crate exists basically, every standard Generation 1-3 can still be opened with Strange from only that crate and the other respective single class unlocked crates, therefore it makes the strangifier redundant on those hats/effects in particular.

THAT BEING SAID, Strange Unusual variants of hats are still worth a bit more than the non strange variants. Ultimately the value is up to the owner and the buyer. It's not going to add a crazy amount of value to the hat, but it may add anywhere from 25% to 35% value, ie: 100 keys becomes 125-135 keys.

yeah fair enough, thanks for that!

The strangifiers apply to other hats and miscs like Big Chief, Bonk Boys and Villain Veils to name a few.

Edit:

Usually the strangified item doesn't add value. Actually people rather have the non-strange variant

Hello I did an extensive study (I only checked one hat with strangifier) and found out that it really didn't impact the sale price, strange or non strange.

Is the strangifier and strange hat market one that can justify a price hike? (idk ask semper, the guy buying the strangifier) Sometimes.

In my eyes, I'll still treat strangified unusuals the same as non strange in suggestions but there has been a recent rule implemented that where there is significant difference in value, you should price on the strange backpack page.

Here is a link to my response to Sempers initial argument in the backpack discord, I did only go over one hat because time constraint so please take with a huge mountain of salt.

Ahh aight, will keep in mind, perma'd from BP discord so can't read it sadly, the strange dbd law has 1 PS and it's denied because of the old reason at 115, so I could do that instead, thanks for this info too!

You are dreaming at that price unfortunately - your listing is only just below a Strange Purple Energy Law, with strange parts, that has been unsold for two months. TCLG6x6 put it best - the Strangifier itself is worth a lot due to its rarity. The Strangifier is not expensive because of its functionality. I would probably list your hat at 100 keys, maybe 110.

Russell also makes a good point. Somewhat often, the non-Strange version of a given Unusual item that has a Strangifier is often worth more. This is because as time goes on, more and more Unusuals will get strangified, which cannot be undone, thus depleting the supply of that Unusual in non-Strange form. This is not the case on your Law because there's like 100 in existence, but something to keep in mind if you go after any other items with Strangifiers in the future.

Way too much, strangifier tends to lose a tons of value when applied . I'd say 50% of what non strange is listed at is what you should try to get. so if it's 75 i'd list at 120 and wait offers
as a rule of thumb unless the strangifier is dirty cheap , i add between 25% to 50% of non strange value depending on what effect and hat i own. law is good and dbd is decent.
Also always remember that buy orders and listings are not SALES. in no way they indicate the actual value of an item
