Can't see Sent Offer History or Incoming Trade Offer History

I know this has been a bug for a while but did we ever find out why? Or was this on purpose?

e.g. it says 66 but there are none in the history.

Don't know reason why but someone said clearing data cache works (doesn't for me but might for others), I think this is a sister effect of 'recently played with' not working either, probably a server connection thing or whatever

Seems like valve is disabling a bunch of this stuff, maybe to save on bandwidth or whatever? You used to be able to see who you sold or bought an item from on the scm but they removed that as well.

This was around the same time they rolled out some intern level code changes to steam friends IIRC so I assume that intern also wrote some changes to this system and they only checked it once (since they will show a trade one time if it was just accepted....sometimes).

Such an annoying bug. Idk if it would require too much access, but if there was a browser plugin that would screenshot offers and item details as they came in and save them somewhere that would be really pog

or.... if valve would just.... fix the feature

they keep re-inventing the UI for the steam client , making it less clean , more confusing and buggy while also consuming x2 or x3 of your ram

you can't make this stuff up

for the recently played with issue , a solution is to use view > players instead

clearly not ideal but at least it works

Things like SCM history names, recent purchase names, items listed names, and items bought names are gone too, so I'm going to assume it's not a bug.
I'm going to say that it has to do with privacy, probably because some people have added other people through SCM, particularly if that person sniped something that the other wanted but couldn't buy, or if someone listed something too cheap and later regretted it. However, the trade history one is especially annoying because the agreement is already in place, I post a link to my trade offer publicly, and they send a trade offer to me.

I hope it's a bug though.

Valve™

Steam API and its overall functionality has been dogshit in recent years and they dont really seem bothered to fix it.
