What's the best case or crate?

Really want to do some unboxing 

 

what's the best crate or case that gives you a chance of a good eotl or robo (or just generally profitable failing that)

Well, if you want EotL or robo effects, your best options are EotL and Robo crates, considering that they're the only crates that have those effects.

Pick a case which you are fine with getting cosmetics from. Because you're almost certainly not going to profit from them. For me that's mayflower/crimson cache. Mayflower cosmetics are pog and so are Crimson effects.

The best case or crate are the ones you don't unbox.

But if you wanna go in 100% expecting to lose all of the money you put in anyways, then you should wait for a good holiday effect release to do any bigger unboxings (HOPEFULLY the summer one is universal, but we'll see)

I reccomend not unboxing at all. Any new case gives you a chance to get an unusualifier so chance for decent loot is higher BUT the actual hats are usually worth less. Robo and EOTL are the most affordable crates with good effects available but still your chance for making profit is <1%.

Idk man the holiday effects usually look rubbish if you do manage to get one. Id rather take more risk with a smaller chance of getting something I actually want

Id like to unbox something to keep if possible and with a new effect theres no way id keep it but I do appreciate your point of view

rather  than unboxing  just  buy them.  Have  alot of friends that unboxed crates and regreted it. for  100 keys you  can buy alot of eotl/ robo effects.

Robos are great, ive unboxed far too many of them but they are the case that ive seen the best return on

The only crates in the history of the game that have ever had legitimately consistent profit chances are 83/84 because of the killstreak kits before word spread like wildfire that they were amazing and their prices shot way up.

 

Otherwise you can only get the EOTL/Robo effects from the EOTL/Robo crates.

 

Some of the newer cases that have quickswitch miscs or a lot of decent all-class hats aren't bad to unbox, but 80% of case-era hats are cancer-tier/low-tier which means you have an 80%+ chance of getting a 10-15 key unusual out of 100 unboxed cases.

Slam already said it pretty good, but if u wanna take a risk and hope for a GOOD hat to unbox in unusual (like a good desired all class or an Assassin / Elite grade) then cases like Gargoyle, Crimson Cache (alot of multiclass in that one), Mayflower (quickswitch miscs), gun mettle and the invasion cases are extremely nice. They are all, however, not on the cheap side. While Mayflower and crimsons are still in the cents, gargoyle and invasion are really old and super popular so they are VERY expensive to open.

 

In ANY CASE (pun intended) i would wait with an unboxing until a seasonal event comes arround (smissmas, halloween, maybe this years summer event if its universal) so u can get new effects and very rare combos that wont ever get unboxed again. Pretty safe way to assure ur unboxed hat isnt in the 15 key range. Especially with some of the more expensive cases since not so many people can afford to open them.
