Personal ignoring* from marketplace.tf staff.

Good afternoon, dear and respectful team fortress 2 community. Yes, exactly a respectful community, because I am sure that the creators, owners, administrators, moderators, staff and other employees respect the community, all their users and are absolutely not biased against anyone. It will be a long story that began in 2018 or even 2013.

To begining.
To begin with, let's get meet, I haven't played games for a long time, I've changed my nicknames a whole bunch of times because it was necessary for my work (each service gave +2% to the price of skins if their site is specified in the nickname, so most accounts look like this: cs.moneyloot.farmcs.trade) so I'm not tied to any name anymore, let's just call me John. I have been trading in steam since 2015 professionally, since 2013 at the amateur level. So that you would understand how it is – 2013-2015, I trade skins, found all sorts of schemes (fulfilling dota2 recipes, trade 1 rare for 2 rare, etc) and as a profit I received beautiful skins with which I played. Since 2015, I started selling skins and getting money for a living. The first sale was enough, however, only to pay for housing and no more.

VK set.
2018, I'm already trading between different services – trade and gambling services, between people and within Steam (steam-steam). My turnover (not my income, not my capital, but my trade turnover) is more than $50 thousand per month. Everything was fine, then a 7-day trade ban was introduced, aimed at protecting users from scammers, but in fact this ban kills 99% of working schemes for trading. As always, ordinary hard workers (traders) are the first to suffer. CSGO introduced a seven-day trade ban for trades, the pubg game became the most popular in steam, and tf2 keys became the most popular goods as a currency in the steam.  In the summer of 2018 , the Russian social network vk.com launches a promotion – buy a VK set for the pubg game and get 5 keys as a gift. Pubg is currently the №1 game in the steam by the number of online. The geography of the players stretches from China to the USA. And in the social network vk.com mostly Russians are registered, less – Kazakhs, Ukrainians, Belarusians. Buying and reselling VK set becomes a profitable business. At retail, you can sell such a bulk with a margin of 20-30%, while you keep 5 keys (which cost $ 1 real each) for yourself as a profit. Then the Chinese come into this business – they buy 100-1000 VK set’s in bulk, put them on Chinese sites like igxe,c5game (buff163 did not exist at that time), the price is greatly reduced. VK sets are sold at a discount of 50% of the cost price, all profits is a PUBG keys. I worked with 5-10 different Chinese fence, whom I was sure I could trust. The scheme of work was like this – you give him a file with codes, 50-100-200 codes. After 2-3 days, when everything has sold out, the Chinese gives you the keys. Sometimes the Chinese pay immediately if they are sure that your codes are working (my codes are working, because I buy them in a system that generates these codes itself). The last thing I remember was 3.5 keys for 1 vk set.

P S: all codes are deactivated, their working and life time is gone, do not try to check them in the game

PGI Tournament.
In the summer of 2018, the most global pubg tournament starts – PGI berlin. Proff. players are given 10 codes each for various skins for giveaway to thereby advertise the tournament. Players from countries where the economy is not the strongest – Belarus, Russia, Brazil, Portugal, Argentina, Costa Rica - players sell these codes for real money. The price for 1 code is ~ $ 100.
July, It's time for the tournament. The tournament is broadcast on twitch, at the tournament you can freebet (in the twitch itself) on teams. If your bet wins, you get a set – pgi title or pgi ringside. The price drops from $100 to $5 per set. Traders like me farm sets on twitch. I hand-fed 50 sets of title and 50 sets of ringside and left them lying around until better times, until the price rises. I also buy and resell these sets from people according to the following scheme – buying 5 tf2 keys, selling 7 tf2 keys.

Chinese wholesalers.
Often I sell sets to Chinese wholesalers (10-20 sets each), and after a couple of hours I receive my payment (tf2 keys). The scheme works that way, because I buy codes from people's hands. People can cheat, people can make mistakes and give the wrong code. And the chain looks like this – from the user who won the code – I am - a Chinese wholesaler - to the user who bought the code for himself. And if the code doesn't work, it's hard to find out who is wrong, but we found out – we wrote to the English and Chinese pubg support service to find out when the code was activated.

If the code was activated before the sale, the one who sold me the code was a bad guy or he made mistake.
If the code was activated after the sale – apparently, the buyer is trying to cheat. As you could understand, I worked very, very hard. As a payment, I received tf2 keys, which I later sold at various sites or to buyers. So I got to marketplace.tf .

Meet the marketplace.
The first acquaintance – there was a large commission of 10% on the site. It was immediately repulsive. But then it turned out that 0% commission for withdrawal to paypal, a large number of buyers, an inflated price for tf2 keys.
It was convenient and pleasant, despite the limitation of 200 slots on the shelf. I even realize that this restriction was not because the owners wanted to make more profit, but simply because the owners themselves were spending on inventory expanders.

I have sold several hundred keys on the site

I had questions, tech. Support answered me (now it's impossible to get answer)

Everything going well until.
In general, everything was going well until one day I saw a message that I could not change the price of the keys. As it turned out – I got a ban on the backpack.tf for assisting scammers. Let me clarify – I had no idea about the backpack.tf, not about scrap.tf about nothing like that. I came to csgo trading, and I didn't know much about tf2. By the way, an important clarification is the marketplace.tf gave me the opportunity to withdraw my money after blocking, gave me the opportunity to take back my tf2 keys from the shelves. So he didn't just block me and take my money, he behaved in an honest way. I had a lot of work, I wrote to support with the question: "what is the ban for?" and received the answer "the ban on the marketplace was issued because of the ban on the backpack.tf. Remove the ban on the backpack.tf and we will remove your blocking on the marketplace.tf" I didn't have the time and desire to figure it out – I logged in from the second account and continued working. Then I got blocked on the second account as well. And on the third. I began to understand. In the description of the blocking it was indicated "scammer alt/fence" on the second accounts it was written "alt of 76561198129014498" (I have nothing to do with this account, I have no trades with him on any of my accounts). I wrote an appeal to the backpack.tf, I was told that I should attach screenshots of all exchanges, of course I, as an innocent and lazy person, did not want to attach anything (to be honest, I do not understand at all how the logic of those who came up with these rules works. As far as I believe – scrap.tf and backpack.tf exist under the jurisdiction of the USA, in which, as far as I know again, there is a presumption of innocence, and the prosecutor must prove the guilt of the accused, and not vice versa) I started selling keys on other services.

About changed rules.
One more clarification – I received a ban on April 20 or April 26, 2019. On April 29, 2019, a topic with a discussion of the rules will start.
https://forums.backpack.tf/topic/70555-open-discussion-on-rules-for-trading-with-scammers-part-2/
Namely, the rules of background checks when trading, discuss penalties for trading with people who have a red flag on the rep.tf. 2 months later, in May 2019, they change the rules – to trade with people who have a red sign on the rep.tf is not punished, only if they do not have a "do not trade" clause.
https://forums.backpack.tf/topic/70966-new-rules-for-background-checks/
But im still was under ban.

3 year later.
Years have passed, already in 2022 I am trading, doing various things and I understand that the tf2 market has not yet been studied for me. I'm going to the marketplace.tf, the ban is hanging. To become a seller, you need to submit an application. I'm joining discord, waiting for the opening of a set of applications for sellers. I am writing to the appeal on the backpack.tf, the moderator says "send all screenshots from 2019 to 2022 from all accounts" I was very surprised, but I take screenshots and send them. They "lie down" in the wrong order, the moderator asks them to arrange them and scolds me that the screenshots are badly cropped. I took screenshots with the extension that the moderator pointed out to me. It (the extension) takes screenshots by itself and cuts them. As a result, I scored and continued to work without tf2.
PS: many thanks to the Toughsox moderator for his patience and respect. Unlike other members of the support team, Toughsox behaved respectfully no matter what.
2023, a vacancy for a seller opens, I go to appeal again, and in order not to waste time, I take new accounts and send applications to sellers. Every morning I start with application checks and with an appeal check. The moderator asks me to attach screenshots, ask me explain where the keys were taken from, what I gave for these keys, why the transactions are only in one direction (either I give someone a lot of keys or someone gives me a lot of keys). I attach all my proofs – screenshots of tables that were created in 2018 or 2019 and that have NOT changed, these tables indicate to whom how many pubg codes I peerdal, how much it cost. I do such actions every day for a month.

By the way, spreadsheet with codes that I sold.

About my girlfriend.
My girlfriend decides to ask me what I do every morning and before lunch – I answer, and she decides to apply for a seller in TF2 too. She is approved, she sends documents for confirmation KYC – and she was blocked as my alt, but with wrong reason “alt of 76561198129014498”  as I said – 0 trades with this guys, 0 conctat. Marketplac.tf support behaves in a rough form, closes the opportunity to create tickets. They (support) does the same with my other accounts. I'm writing to the discord marketplace.tf so, I was blocked, but it's not my fault – and support staff blocked in the discord. And they can't be blamed for this in general, they also think that I am a fraudster and a fence of scammers  (but why they blame me if rules already was changed?).

The last days of my appeal on backpack.tf.
The last 20 days of the appeal are boring – I sent a huge bunch of screenshots, they asked me to find any correspondence - and where do I get them, steam stores the history only for 2 weeks, 4 years have passed since the blocking. I find 5-10 screenshots that my competitors and I sent to each other to make sure that the Chinese give everyone a fair price. And after 1 month and 21 days, the backpack.tf moderator asks me to read the rules, read the topic with the rule change from May 25, 2019, and decides that I did not help scammers, did not buy stolen keys, was not a fraudster or a fraudster myself, was not associated with the account 76561198129014498 in any way.

I was happy about few hours.

I am happy, joyful going to the marketplace.tf to say that is finish, I have finally proved my innocence, ask to remove the ban from me at marketplace.tf either! But it wasn 't there – they tell me: "unfortunately, we will let the ban on our side for the reason that you have tried to bypass the ban many times, fake your main account, fake the history of trade, and forged documents, if we can help you with something else, please write to us." After that, I write very eloquently that it's not my fault that I wanted to bypass the erroneous ban. After all, my ban was removed, so it was mistakenly issued. I ask you to give me another punishment – after all, I was in the ban for 4 years by mistake of your system. I clarify that the rule by which I got blocked was canceled 2 months after I was blocked. I read the marketplace rules over and over again. Marketplace.tf and scrap.tf rules, where not a word is said about "fake the main account is fake history" and of course I write that I did not forge documents, registration with a female name is my girlfriend, not a fake. I say that she is a living person, and if necessary, she can pass a full-fledged KYC. The marketplace.tf support has not responded to any of my messages for 4 days (5 for now). I am writing from my old second account – they close my ticket and restrict my account rights, I can no longer send tickets from the second account.  All that remains for me is one account, empty unanswered tickets, complete ignoring of me by those. Support and staff marketplace.tf

https://imgur.com/a/c5cZh1L- the main ticket, when I was running happy and joyful and thought that I would be blocked.
https://imgur.com/a/dSAiEni- the second ticket. Between the first and the second, I made an appeal from the second account, where I described everything in detail as here. It was closed without even reading and did not respond, and banned from creating tickets on the second account.
https://imgur.com/a/8tXOfj1- all tickets from the first account.
https://imgur.com/a/8Xxie2G that's how, by the way, they answered me 4 years ago, even though they considered me a fraudster or an accomplice of fraudsters.

Almost finish.
I do not know what has changed since that time, whether some new evil moderator has appeared, or the whole staff has lost patience, but the fact remains that the attitude towards me as a client has changed a lot. At the same time, I did not hack their system, did not use bugs or loopholes of the site, did not receive any benefit or profit. But the attitude is exactly the same as if one of the employees personally offended by me. Hardly anyone even read my appeals. This is what made me write here, put this story on public. I can agree – I am guilty of trying to gain access from several accounts. The rules say you can't use multiple accounts to buy or sell. I had neither a goal nor the ability to use multiple accounts to buy or sell. I didn 't have a goal to bypass the system to gain benefits .
I can agree – I tried to bypass the ban. The reason for this was that the ban was unreasonable, erroneous and was subsequently lifted.
And I cannot accept that I forged documents. As I wrote earlier, my girlfriend submitted the application. She has her own life, her own will and her right to do what she wants. She knows some aspects of my work, she has the makings of entrepreneurship and she wanted to try herself as a salesperson. Perhaps she was motivated by a desire to help me, but I assure you, she was doing her job without helping me sell my keys bypassing the system.
Well, in the end – what would happen if I got the status of a seller and began to sell my things? An innocent user, wrongly accused, who spent 4 years in a ban, who knows the rules of normal tone and the rules of the tf2 community, with a normal reputation (neither bad nor good) on steam.rep on rep.tf would sell his stuff using marketplace.tf. That all.

In the end.
In general, I have nowhere to go, I do not know where to ask for help. I consider myself innocent. If I were what they think, if I’am were – a scammer, a fraudster, a fence of stolen goods – I would skillfully bypass your system, take one-time dummy accounts to gain access to the service and cash out the stolen keys or whatever. But instead, I have been sitting since April 20, 2019, NOT actively trying to prove my innocence, or since June 2022 more actively, or since February 1, 2023 huge actively (literally every day) trying to prove it, every day checking my applications for appeal on one or another service. I ask the community to explain to me, am I really so wrong in my actions that I deserve a lifetime ban, without an end time? I deserve that my girlfriend or I would be restricted from creating tickets, ignored in my support tickets, blocked my discord on the marketplace.tf? Or I still got on an evil employee who is biased against me.
I understand that it was worth solving all the issues back in 2019, attaching all the necessary number of screenshots in the correct order and removing the ban. Everyone makes mistakes, and I made mine. I have learned some lessons, I am ready for a normal dialogue, for a normal punishment. But for now, I'm being treated like a wild animal, which I'm not.

honestly the first bit of your writeup just reads like an elaborate scam of some sort

and then you admit to evading a ban with a second account

What exactly do you consider an elaborate scam? What benefit do I have if you are right? If I cheated on someone, why don't I have a ban on rep.tf or steam?
point out where you see gaps or holes and I'll describe it all here.
PS: maybe I should attach some screenshots from the communication with the moderator backpak.tf, there I transparently show all my trades from 2019.

Also I have heard many stories about people who have been banned just for trading someone who's flagged as a scammer, even when the person who is flagged is not a scammer at all.

as i said - a already unbanned on backpac.tf, on scrap.tf. I was banned, i do appeal, and moder decide that im not scammer fence, not scammer alt. But marketplace.tf staff don't care about my backpack.tf appeal anymore.
maybe I didn’t make it clear enough to understand the whole point - I will re-read my post and change it if it turns out that I didn’t make it clear to the end. I repeat once again - I was blocked on baсkpaсk.tf. For almost two months every day I collected evidence and evidence of my innocence, and finally the ban was lifted from me. I went to the marketplace.tf and asked to remove ban from me, they did not want to do this. Okay, I can understand them. I started a dialogue with them, but no one answered me. Not one more message. Not a single answer for my request. That's why I'm writing here

She is approved, she sends documents for confirmation KYC – and she was blocked as my alt, but with wrong reason “alt of 76561198129014498” 😄 as I said – 0 trades with this guys, 0 conctat.

But the attitude is exactly the same as if one of the employees personally offended me.
That all.

Staff no longer look for proof, they're biased as hell and have the anger issues of a 12 year old boy on fortnite, I wish staff were actually useful on websites and social media.

Idk if I got everything you were trying to tell us but it sounds like you were banned for something that was bannable at the time of the ban and tried to continue trading on alts while your main was rightfully banned (at the time).

Especially the "we will let the ban on our side for the reason that you have tried to bypass the ban many times" sounds like that is the main reasone they won't unban you, because as far as I can read it you did make alts to continue trading on marketplace, while you were rightfully banned (at that time at least), which was not allowed as far as I can tell.

That's also why they lifted your backpack.tf ban and not the marketplace ban. You broke a backpack.tf rule that now does not exist anymore in that form and got unbanned, but you also broke the rule of making alts on marketplace while you were banned.

Your ban reason being "breaking community or internal rules also makes sense in that case, since you broke internal rules by using those alts to trade on mp.

But honestly, you shouldn't care about a marketplace ban in 2023, a lot of big traders are marketplace banned and there are a lot of other cash trading sites that can be used.

some kind you are right.
but I didn't make alts to keep trading, I made alts to apply for a seller.
the rules even say that you can't use Alts to buy or sell. As far as I can see, my action regarding alts does not fall under this rule.

That's way to many words with not one mention of "The Sandman" so maybe tf2 trading isn't for you.

I don't think so. I understand trading, I know how to trade. so this is mine. no matter how they put sticks in my wheels.

Jeez sorry to hear. I've been trying to appeal my marketplace.tf ban with the mp.tf support for ages. Been closing and opening tickets. It's rough. Good luck though.
