Is there a way to check the unusual effect of something that sold on steammarket?

As far as I'm aware, no. Only way to see it is if you're the buyer or seller.

If it went into a public backpack, it's pretty much a matter of looking at the hats out there and lining up the tradeability times with the purchase. I've had a few of my SCM purchases used as evidence for price changes this way without me or the sellers input.

and that type of stalking is precisely why a non-neglible number of people who use SCM alot have non-public invs (or buy on alts and transfer later)

No you can only look at unusual hats on steam market not effects and manually check which effects are on the hats by highlighting over them and manually checking each one
