Let's be honest, firepowered, even when fully active, usually has the current state of like:

 

12-16 actual players trading

6 afk people with a bunch of god tier unusuals

4 random squeakers who have one low tier unusual or nothing at all and are a waste of a server slot

6 people spamming the same binds over and over again while afk

4 people talking about irrelevant shit on the microphone while people are trying to advertise (usually cause admins are never online)

 

The general truth is that it's not as pleasurable to sit for hours on a trade server wasting your time when nobody is there for the actual purpose of the server or just to see the same people over and over again who you don't trade with. I get that it's a game and not everybody has to be "serious 100% trader mode" every second on there, but the overall experience has shifted drastically. I've seen people try to promote new servers that have died in a week. Hard to say the exact reason, maybe the experience isn't as popular, maybe trading isn't as active, or people just move on to other things. Listings prevent the hassle or getting your eardrums blasted and are overall just more effective since people are usually browsing a website over connecting to a server to do the same thing.

Seems like an exaggeration, but even so FirePowered at least remains full at almost all times of the day. The other trade servers have remained empty up until these past 2 weeks, and yesterday, it proved that the servers have the potential to come back considering how they were all full at the same time.

I agree. Let me just clarify that I'm not against what you're doing here, I support a community effort to repopulate trading. I don't think it's impossible for servers to be populated again, and honestly, I hope they do with the summer coming up and a potential update. But it seems like the previously empty servers pick up for a little and then drop back down again as new content comes and goes. It's become apparent now more than ever. I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see other community servers that aren't even trading related to be facing the same issue right now.

It's just gonna take some effort and commitment from people to join servers and fill them up, and that's honestly what I'm hoping on rn.

Firepowered - Flex heaven and no real trading

Vatican - Banned firepowered users, full of racial slurs and random other bs

Harpoon - Only has users due to constant giveaways to players 

 

All options are terrible in this day and age, its not pleasant to sit and get ear-raped for a solid hour or 2 on these servers.  

 

You are better off using any minecraft trading server than any of the above mentioned servers. As these actually have trading going around and not just friend meetups or gloating to other users.

I've been more successful trading on Minecraft trade servers than I ever really have on firepowered.

Vatican maybe came close pre-2022 but ever since it went full tilt with the no rules and it started only being filled with people who think racism = really funny it just sorta fell off.

 

As others have pointed out you get more eyes on classies without the hassle of enduring squeakers, micspammers, or randos talking about things you don't care about.

I like the idea of repopulating community servers don't get me wrong, but populating them for the sole reason of reviving trading just seems like a waste of time in my eyes.

Even though we use this to meme on servers all the time, it's not really that true now. FP does actually have traders on it, Vatican isn't full of that anymore and we mute the obnoxious ones. Harpoon is full from the giveaways, but it is still at least full of people that are also trading. 

 

Definitely a stretch saying that you get ear raped for that long without anyone doing anything about it, and from my experience the other regular trade servers are far worse as they are actually full of children who are trying to legitimately play the game most of the time, while the unusual servers maybe get 1-2 of those as outliers every now and then who get taken care of (muted usually) on the unusual servers.

I can't speak for trading on FP because I'm banned there, so no comment on that. Vatican though has rules and while that word is allowed we mute the ones that are using it to target others maliciously or use it obnoxiously like a kid that just read Huckleberry Finn.

 

I'm not arguing that trade servers are entirely better than backpack and that you should just use that instead. I'm just saying that for me, using both trade servers and backpack has yielded better results for me than ONLY trading on backpack, and that trade servers can revive. I don't feel like it's a waste of time when there's potential profit for others as well.

I used to sit for HOURS on trade servers a couple of years back. I personally just found success in buying stuff on trade servers, i still sometimes join a trade servers if something isn't selling, but i am tired of them.

When i was starting trading around 2020 trade servers were my blood basically, but over some time i started noticing the toxicity, morons and i saw them as a waste of time.

 

Like seriously, i got a warning for my ad in voice chat being over 15sec (not in the server rules even) while 2 jackasses were bullying a guy for being a low tier for 5min straight while a mod was on the server. Or the people reading your ad loudly in voice chat and tryign to 1 up you.

 

I just got tired of the constant bs and the waste of time of trade servers.

There's always someone like that on FirePowered, it's just part of the experience. Just in recent memory there was Dobstep with his Co-Pilot and for a while Red Chicken with his Bread Heads. It happens.
