What can you do if someone buying the same item as you on backpack.tf threatens you ?

title, someone buying the same item as me is threatening me to "not let me sell anything" (using his words), what can I do ? can I post a negative trust on his backpack.tf profile or anything else ?

Yes, tbh me too, I don't understand what does he meant by that but that's what he said, I'm buying the same painted items as him and we're both almost always the highest buyers of many painted items, I don't want to answer him but I would like to share it to everyone, like with a distrust rating or anything similar, I don't know how to screenshot so I have a video of proof that he said that by sending me a trade offer

meh, just keep doing what you're doing, it's just empty scare tactics. ain't nothing wrong with paint trading, but i doubt anyone so reliant on it for profit that they have to threaten the competition has the resources to do jack shit.

I really doubt this qualifies for -trust as this has nothing to do with trust.

 

If you feel like they really threatened or personally attacked you then you could probably try to make a user report.

 

What I don't get is why you couldn't just paint the whole picture for us. I feel like it could be something like "I copied all of his Buy Orders verbatim and then he got mad at me".

I told him, change comment, but he does ctrl+c + ctrl+v and copy me on buy orders, lol.

I just got back to trading, when I traded 2 years ago some people were copying my buy orders too so I thought this was normal, it didn't really bother me and it doesn't really explain what he sent, I never said anything similar to a competitor, however you're probably right, I should have added this information, I didn't thought that it would be relevant, I was more focused on the threat, if he's mad because of this then he didn't explained really well, I still have the message he sent me it's not really understandable

Well if he does it to you, chances are he does it to others too.

As of now I don't think the - rating would hold, but surely if he is doing this alot, is kinda harassment? probably be banned for it or warned at the very least imo. I don't know the rules for this but surely there are some for harassment.

Doesn't qualify as a -trust as trust is related to how trustworthy someone is during risky trades, however might quality as a harassment report depending on the tone of the messages you have been getting and the evidence you have against him.
