Hi all, I recently stumbled upon a TF2 post on reddit and it reminded me of backpack.tf. It made me think about everything that I've ever done on here and motivated me to create this post. At the time of my ban, I was a 13 years old kid who liked the game, enjoyed trading, and quite an asshole. I'm here to apologize and tell you my unbiased story(I quit trading a long long time ago, never got back to TF2, and had no stake in fabricating a lie.)

Here's my story if you have some free time.

I started trading because I received a $50 Steam Gift Card for my birthday. I bought Skyrim due to the hype, didn't really like the game, and wanted to use the rest of the $20 to get games that I actually liked. I started with scrap metals and spent a lot of effort to trade my way up. Middle school was pretty easy and I did not participate in a lot of extracurricular activities due to my parents being poor/not having transportation, and so I spent a lot of time trading in TF2. Over a few months, I got a decent enough capital/inventory to do buyouts and increase my profit margin which is how I got to $2k+ backpack. I never intended to use my bp.tf suggestions to increase my own wealth. I started contributing suggestions because I thought bp.tf was way better than tf2outpost and wanted to be a part of it. Ego got the best of me and I started to make a lot of low-effort suggestions that often get approved nonetheless because of my reputation. I initially made key price increase because I honestly believe that the exchange rate of key: metal was increasing. At a certain point, I just did it to create controversy in the comment section and to be as edgy as possible. Nonetheless, I still believe that most of my key suggestions were honest in nature because metal, without a doubt, was becoming more and more worthless. I was trade restricted by valve around March 2013 because I bought keys that were purchased using stolen credit cards. I did not know they were stolen. I simply bought them because greed got the best of me and I could not pass up on $1.3/key. If it makes you happy to learn, I actually lost money throughout this entire ordeal after getting charged back for over $2000+ by a scammer after selling some unusuals(my parents had to step in and pay Paypal back. We were not rich so the $2k+ was a substantial amount.) I have never scam or chargeback anyone in my life and so these stories of me scamming people are not at all true. I simply built my inventory based on consistent trading and the understanding of items' values. After my main account got restricted by Valve in March 2013, I continued to trade using my alts for some times before realizing it's not worth it at all. I pivoted my focus to schoolwork, got into a good college, and am now doing quite well with my life. Nonetheless, I really appreciated what TF2 trading had taught me and also apologize for what an asshole I've been.

P.S This whole trading thing actually gave me a pretty good story for college applications and inspired me to become an Econ major.

Throw out some questions below if you have them. It's a slow day at work.
