the tough break case and cosmetics

hello,my first thread here

 

i can't figure this out so i would really like to hear your opinions (and advice) :

basically , the case itself rose almost x5 in price over the span of a few weeks (was around 10 cents in september and it's almost 50 on the scm now) but all the relative items have significantly dropped in price

i'm not talking about a slight decrease or adjustment,some have gone down 50% or even more (the diplomat,chicago overcoat,gift bringer just to name a few)

 

how is that possible ? when a case gets rarer and more expensive,its items should increase in value or at the very least remain somewhat stable

in csgo it can happen if a new,much cheaper case offers the same knives / gloves but it's clearly not the case here and,on top of that,those items i mentioned are pretty nice as well (imo)

 

so,what is going on ? the only possible explanation i can think of is people opening way too many of those crates and flooding the market with the items but a 60% decrease in price is way too much

 

so now i'm stuck with a few extra tough break cosmetics i wanted to sell and clearly don't know what to do : should i sell now and minimize the losses or wait until they bounce back to their former glory ?

Limited time effects --> cases with desired unusual-able hats go brrr --> the literal ref-worthy trash that unboxers acquire is dumped --> trash items prices dip rapidly since supply completely outstrips demand

 

This happens every year.

 

You can bag hold and prices should increase over time.

wwh isn't that bad IF its unusual. Even so, after hunting (attempting to unbox) an unu pats peak for a few years now the game loves to cuck me with a wwh instead. Even so, I can't complain too much

All desirable cases contents tank in value because of the supply of unboxers wanting more funds. You can see this with festivizers, tods, bp exanders, all the other unboxables.
