[RCR] The Red Cross
Hi all, Need some advice on helping to shut these clowns down. These two accounts messaged me at the exact same time giving me the ol' script. I know its a scam! Usually, I just tell them "reported" and they block me. I do report to Steam but I am wondering if there is more I can do, particularly, if I bait them into sending me a link, etc. What information/messages do I need from them to make these things more effective? I only say this because I have reported accounts and seen them active for weeks afterwards. Everyday, some poor average Joe is getting scammed and it seems as though trying to educate people isn't enough. How do we effectively deal with this nonsense? Thanks and be safe (both irl & on steam)
Keks
for every scam prevented, there is scam that succeeded. you really cant do anything to these scammers other than informing newbies to be more resistant to these scams. if you insist, just pretend like you dont know anything and bait out the link. Xaeriel
I think you should get straight to the point and tell them to suck a wet sock, block, wrap yourself in a warm blanket and drink some hot cocoa with hazelnut milk Ignore reporting them, new accounts are too easy to make anyway
