Free tradable items as a free to play

Is there any other way to get free tradable items (as a free to play) besides using the scrap tf incinerator bot and tf2easy com? between taking a free daily skin from tf2 easy and checking the bot for trash I've managed to rack up 2 refs. just wondering if there's a better method (i just started btw). i guess scrap raffles could work too, but you do have to get pretty lucky. i can trade up from these two refs but i would like to rack up a bit more (im a f2p).

The sites im talking about are these

One free skin per day with site in youre name https://www.tf2easy.com/free

Scrap tf garbage incinerator bot (sometimes has items for free): https://scrap.tf/incinerator

Trying to build up from that point is pointless. Just buy a ToD Ticket, Backpack expander, or a case key. You'll become premium and you'd be able to get almost all your funds back by selling the item on the SCM.

Sir, I cannot "just buy a ToD Ticket, Backpack expander, or a case key".

I'm not sure if you read this thread, but your comment is completely unrelated to it. It specifically says free, tradable items as a free to play.

Paying money for a key and unlocking tf2 premium shirks the question entirely.

Besides, even if I were to have a key, I couldn't sell it on scm (to unlock tf2 premium). that requires a full account on steam (which requires a previous 5 deposit). my steam account is limited. i do not have a steam wallet. as well as my f2p status. and I dont have money to spend anyways. In order to get the money I would have to trade up to 3-4 keys first and cash them out to somebody who would buy me a 5 steam gift card. either that, or I could just trade up to an Upgrade to Premium gift (about 3 keys as well, however doesn't require any cash deposit for use)

inject some funds into your account, not being f2p, because gaining a few ref over weeks is a waste of time.

I gained those 2 refs over just 1 day. it would be 1 key if I continued to gain over a month/few weeks. Since i have three accounts and i get 2 ref per day doing those activities (just clicking once a day nothing strenuous) it would come out to about 60 ref per month/few weeks as you said. Btw, thanks for that bot. i got 1 free winter noisemaker because of it.

Find someone who's willing to give you a few ref (like me lol) and start your trading career off of that

This way doesn't require a third party who is willing to help a new trader. These offers are available to anyone including f2ps regardless of connection to nice individuals like yourself

For everyone who is asking, the 7 day trade hold in Counter strike made tf2 the most viable way to trade up from nothing on steam. i am brand new to steam and i want a cool profile and artwork showcase. but i'm not spending money (partly because im a kid and i got no money to spend LOL 😛).  the reason im trading up from nothing is because I want to level up my steam profile to level 10 and unlock a showcase as well as remove the limited status on my Steam account (and get to level 10) and remove the free to play status on my tf2 account (and maybe get some cool hats) without investing any money. sure its a challenge but im up for it

Basically: no. - Companies don't like giving away things of actual value.

Your best bet is to politely ask for free stuff in places where it's allowed.

Key word: politely. Don't spam it, and be grateful for anything, even if it's just a single unique eyelander.

There are ways to profit off of low-value items but it takes days and weeks to profit just a mere few cents, so I don't recommend even trying to trade until you have at least 30-60 ref.

Definitely going to start taking those free items on tf2 easy at least lmao, one free key per month, count me in

I would like it if you didn't, there is a limited amount of those items, and due to their worthless properties are most useful for very porr individuals like me. you alreday have a sizeable inventory so if you could refrain from using it I would be happy :DDDD

This is so sad

I am not trying to make a pity party out of this. :((( some people have already offered to give me a free Gift to premium after i posted this forum but that is not the point. I don't want free donations out of pity, I wanted to get my profile to level up by myself and unlock a cool artwork showcase and i am looking for more sites to add to my cycle of daily free item tasks. I found a couple more but they involve doing surveys (not cool bro)

I dont like surveys but if you want another way to get free keys I found this website. i have redeemed a few points on there by doing tasks. but to get a lot, you have to do lame stuff like surveys, downloading mobile game apps, watching videos, playing browser games, etc. but i abstain from those methods adamantly. you can still rack up some points daily without needing to do any surveys though which is nice to get a couple refs

Free TF2 Items and Skins and Keys (surveys BLEH🤢🤮)

As it should. The point is that trying to grind up as a f2p is not worth it in the slightest. You are spending all this time earning fractions of a penny. Looking around the streets for loose change people may have dropped is a more profitable use of time than trading up from nothing. Sure, you got 2 refined in one day, but you still spent a day earning a nickel. Even as a kid you have better avenues of earning funds. Walk a dog, mow a lawn, rake some leaves, paint a fence, deliver some papers. The moment you get paid for any of that, you'll realize that the f2p grind was a complete and utter waste of time and effort.

If I actually spend a day earning a nickel that would be quite horrendous yes. However I spend a second making that 2 refined and had the entirety of the day to do whatever I wanted. It's also extraordinarily ablest of you to assume everyone is able to do hard work/labor. maybe I don't got any legs dude. on top of that someone offered me a free upgrade to premium after i wrote this forum post which only took a matter of minutes (worth about 3 keys so technically if i accepted his free offer I would've made 4.32 euros in a matter of about 300 seconds but who is counting). on top of that, some countries (including where I am from) have minimum wages lower than 1.47 euros per day😅 youre assuming everybody lives in the same location of the globe and has the same opportunities as you. on top of all of those things, even if I wished to do that labor you speak of, the payment is far lower in my country. nobody is giving you 41.48 euros to 178 euros for this level of labor where i am from. where i am you would be lucky to get 1.42 euros after 8 hours of intense hard labor intensive work in the fields. most poeple are paying below minimum wage . besides, i just turned 14 recently which means im still 1 years away from the minimum age for working in my country.

There is literally no reason to trade with less than 10 keys. Your spending more money powering your pc than you would make starting with 2 ref and it seems extremely un fun

I am paying nothing for electricity. I can charge from the city. and I am having fun. much more fun than spending 8 hours of doing hard labor intensive work and getting less than half of my potential income from sitting and doing nothing on a computer as you say (like I said before someone offered me a free 4-5 euro item after making this forum post which took about 4 minutes to make). besides, 1 ghana cedi is equal to about 0.14 euros, so its generally much more useful for me to make money in a different currency anyways (due to the valuation of labor differentiating in different systems of currencies)

Its true and I would still avoid it. And I think the point that everyone is trying to make is that you can spend your time doing much better things. Are you saying that you really dont have a few dollars to spare to put 5 bucks on your account? You cant do chores or small tasks for money at all? If so I think you may have bigger priorities than playing games on steam.

It's much more then simply a few dollars where i am from. 5 dollars is equal to 3 days of an adults working wage here. I do not get paid for doing chores or small tasks as you say. I basically just do school and play games on steam. The free items on tf2easy are worth it to me because i needed a free item to begin trading due to my free to play status on tf2. I have a computer that was given to me by the schools computer programme so thats how i play games and how im talking to you guys now (HELLO 😛)

I made it up to about 7.44 refine metal after trading a little bit today for about an hour 😅 i get what you guys are saying but at the same time its really not a bad wage and its sure to accumulate into more viable growth shortly as my capital increases. i can only advertise on mic though so if people have voice enabled to 0 they can't hear me. should i advertise with my Steam username too in order to increase sales and engagement (ive seen some people doing this)?

Sure, add it to your name.

It doesn't work super well in my experience as most people ask questions before deciding to get in contact, but since text chat is off the table; I guess there's really no other way.
