Buy low sell high

Aim for items with high demand and somewhat not very big supply (example : strange nice looking skins. Stranges with good part)

Negotiate

Advertise

If you need some starter money, you can always get a spec ks kit fabricator and complete it, then sell the kit for a bit more than parts worth.

And 2 most important things : Always check price and be patient.

Key prices only goes up.. unless this games economy crashes a second time.

Key prices remain stable... unless valve decides to stop selling them for $2.50

One big thing to understand is that it's not that keys are going up in value, it's refined that's going down in value. With the supply vastly outstripping demand, it will have less and less value as more is made unless Valve introduces an effective metal sink as the current one, crafting, has not been worth it for a long, long time.
